Two kilometers away you can also visit Mosteiro de Paço de Sousa which is also an ancient church / monastery and Senhora do Salto natural water-fall. Fishing and canoeing are also available in river Sousa. If you like karting you may enjoy yourself quite nearby in Baltar. In Penafiel council the city itself is worth a visit. In earlier centuries this city was inhabited by Neolithic, Barbarian and Roman peolple who left relevant marks such as menhirs, stone engravings and a Roman city. This city is also considered an important one in a region which is full of interesting churches, chapels, tombs, little museums, manor houses and farms.
