CHIATRI PUCCINI is a small locality near Lucca, situated on the hills overlooking the coastline of Viareggio. It is surrounded by woods, olive groves and chestnut trees. The village still preserves its ancient Tuscan characteristics with its small groups of houses built on different hill peaks. The place is well known for its chestnuts and for wild boar hunting in winter, and above all for Giacomo Puccinis villa. Here the famous composer used to spend much of his free time receiving friends, hunting in the woods and getting inspiration for his works. In his villa overlooking the lake of Massaciuccoli, Puccini composed his worldwide famous opera La Tosca.Chiatri Puccini is located midway between medieval town of Lucca and Pisa with its famous leaning tower.
