Renovated traditional house on the right bank of the Douro River, about 50 m above the water line. It is 3 km from the centre of São Lourenço do Douro, a village with supermarket, cafés and butchery. There is no public transportation in the village, so you can either walk or drive there. The county town is Marco de Canavezes, 12 km distant. It is 60 km from Oporto and 66 km from its airport. Inserted into beautiful walled private grounds and enjoying magnificent river views and views of the southern bank, the property is a renovated granite two storey house equipped with central heating and comprising 2 double rooms, 1 bathroom, living room with wood stove, dining area seating 10 persons and open plan kitchen, and a pleasant balcony in the upper floor; downstairs you will find another living room with a double sofabed, and a store room with a supplementary deep freezer and a refrigerator. Outside there are several terraces, barbecue, extensive lawn with a beautiful south facing swimming pool, garden furniture, sun loungers, laundry and garage for 2-3 cars with table tennis and table football. Only a few meters from the main house there is a charming wooden bungalow with a double sofabed and a guest WC with shower. Sleeps 6-8 persons, self catering.

Douro Valley The Douro is a valley, a river, a vineyard, it is wine. The combination of these factors, as well as the selective choice of stocks is decisive for the quality and purity of the wines, which are no more than the effect of the harmonious marriage between the earth, the climate and the love and art of humans. But the Douro is not only vineyard, wine, almonds, olive oil... It is also its people, the wine farmers, who shaped its history and traditions; and the still untouched idyllic Quintas, with their inviting welcome.
