Our villa is built on the top of the hill of Schinias beach, one of the most pristine and beautiful beaches of Greece! Our home enjoys 360 degree views, from the plains of Marathon and the mountains of Gramatico to the multiple islands in the horizon of the Aegean see. For some of the ancient history buffs, this is the area where the famous "Battle of Marathon" took place during the Persian wars in the 400s BC. The entire villa has 550 sq m (about 5000 sq ft) of living space in addition to over 250 sq m of balconies and porticos. The gas grill BBQ area is perched in the corner of the back yard, with its fruit trees and wild vegetation. One can take a quick walk up the rock garden area to the top of the hill, to enjoy the 360 degree view everybody is always talking about. The property is surrounded by a concrete wall. The lower part of the villa is currently for rent and is completely self contained, with its private entrances (3) and verandas (2). The rental floor has 150 sq m (about 1500 sq feet) of living space, with two bedrooms and two baths. Additionally, a third bedroom with its own en-suite bath and private veranda and entrance, can be made available for larger groups of guests or guests who require more privacy. The main living level and two bedroom levels provide sleeping for a maximum of 6-8 guests (depending on number of bedrooms rented) , including children and infants. The bedroom levels offer a total of three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed, the second bedroom has a loft (perfect for kids and young adults) and a total of 4 single beds (or two single beds and a queen size bed). The third bedroom has two single beds (can turn into a king size bed) with a private exterior entrance to the rest of the house. All three bedrooms have their own private bathrooms and air conditioners, and two have balconies overlooking the sea. The living level is open and spacious with a large modern kitchen, large living room, formal dining room, fireplace, entertainment area, and direct access to a 50 sq m (500 sq ft) veranda overlooking the Aegean Sea. For our guests who love to BBQ, they have access to the BBQ area and a stroll to the top of the hill to enjoy the 360 degree view.

THE AEGEAN SEA: Only a short distance via a nice hike down the hill side or a 3 minute drive by car you can enjoy delightful swims, snorkeling, or diving off the rocky coast in the crystal clear waters of the Aegean Sea. Diving off the rocks is fun and popular. The fish and other marine life are delightful to watch while snorkeling. The rocky coastline abounds with secluded spots perfect for sunbathing in privacy. SCHINIAS BEACH: We also have Schinias Beach, perhaps one of the best beaches in the world for small children and adults with poor swimming skills located only 5 minutes away by car. The water is crystal clear and shallow. Small children and toddlers can wade approximately one hundred meters out to sea and still be in water that is not over their heads. Adults must wade about 300 meters out to reach chest deep water. The beach is protected and rarely has waves of any size. It does not have any currents or tides to endanger children. Unlike most beaches in Greece, Schinias Beach is a sand beach with a pine forest growing down to the water’s edge. It is perfect for picnics. Needless to say, it is very popular with Greek parents. NIGHTLIFE: Privacy and nature beauty is what our community offers. Nightlife is only a few minutes way, a short ride to the nearest town. Go out to eat, dance and mil around in the square, go shopping, watch the people, and the come home away from it all.

The Schinias area is located at the beach of marathon, within a 5 minute drive to the town of Marathon, where you will find anything you need from grocery stores to pharmacies, restaurants and banks and some basic shopping . Nea Makri is 15 minutes away, with many shops, restaurants. EXCURSIONS: You want to go see the islands for a day or two, or just a few hours, you have several opportunities to do so. The port of Rafina is 30 minutes away. You can visit any island you like form there. A day trip will take you to Andros and Mikonos. Just down the hill from us within 10 minutes you can take the ferry across to Evia, take a ride, and be back for dinner. If you want to go into Athens, you can leave your car at the station, and take the beautiful, clean air-conditioned bus into Athens and leave the driving to the Greeks. Within 1 hour you will be at the metro station from where you can go anywhere you please. The national highway is within 30 minutes form the villa. If driving and exploring the mainland is to your liking, it is quick and easy. Within 1.5 hours you can be visitign the ancient ruins of Corinth, or Mycenea. In 2.5 hours you can visit Delphi, and be back for late night swim and dinner.
