The just renovated “Casa del 700” is located in one of the beautiful square of Sicily: the Umberto 1st square. The entranceis by means of a porch and it opens on a beautiful yard that gives the house quietness and calmness, even though it’s located in the town centre. The entrance leads to the house first floor through aneighteenth century stairway. The house is composed by a hall/living room, through which one can reach the bedroom, and a corridor, through which the kitchen, a bathroom provided with a shower, and a laundry room are accessible. At the house entry, by means of the other stairs one is able to access the mansard, so composed: two bedrooms, a bathroom provided with a bath, a laundry room, a little terrace and a balcony.

Avola is a Sicilian far-southern seaside town that lookstoward the south-east coast of Sicily in the Noto Gulf. Avola, a town of sun, of sea and arts, is attractive for its several civilian (the Palazzo Ducale, thecity hall, the town theater, etc.) and religious (the Sant’AntonioAbate’s church, the Sant’Antonio di Padova’s church and the sumptuousChiesa Madre) buildings. In the early twentieth century decades some art nouveau detached houses and palaces had been built and theystill keep on giving further prestige to the town center. Avola is also a town of culture and good wine (the famous Nero d’Avola wine is so named after Avola)and food. In the Avola’s area there is a piece of earthly paradise, a naturalistic, historical and archeological heritage with an immensurable value: it’s called theCava Grande del fiume di Cassibile. It’s a valley (almost a canyon), where you can contemplatenatural wonders as: the vegetation (planes, willows, oleanders, ivies, ferns, etc.), the fauna (dragon-flies, colorful butterflies, hedgehogs, foxes, blackcaps, cuckoos, kestrels, etc.), the geomorphological (themarmittedeigiganti, the erosion showers, the wonderful laghettiand the marie) and archeological (the Byzantine village, the Cassibile’s necropolis and the Grottadeibriganti) features. Avola can be considered a good start point for an holiday aimed atalternating: • tours of the surrounding towns: Noto (also called The Stone Garden, U.N.E.S.C.O.’s heritage, at less than 8 km), Syracuse (just 24 km in 20 minutes and one can reach the chief town where the beauties,most of all left by the ancient Greeks, undisputed reign; just for istance: the Greek Theater, the Orecchio di Dionigi, the FonteAretusa), or other towns like Palazzolo, Modica and Ragusa; • tours of places with extraordinary landscape beauty (Vendicari, CalaMosche, Marzamemi, the Marchesa di Cassibile beach, Pantalica).
