Monte Horizonte Holiday is a licensed rural tourism by Turismo de Portugal and located in the wonderful Alentejo region of Portugal at only 15 minutes from the beach and just five minutes from the historic city Santiago do Cacém. It is run completely on solar and wind energy.Beach nearby On our property of 50 acres (20 Ha.) we have 6 holiday houses available with all their own privacy. Casa Camelia, Casa Oliveira and Casa Mimosa are detached holiday houses with 1 bedroom and are suitable for a maximum of 4 persons. Casa Sobreiro is also a detached vacation house with 2 bedrooms and suitable for a maximum of 6 persons. The vacation houses Casa Borboleta and Casa Pássaro are semi detached holiday homes, both have 2 bedrooms and are suitable for a maximum of 6 persons each. They can be rented together as Monte Horizonte. Swimmingpool Sines All holiday houses are fitted with modern conveniences. The swimming pool of 9,5 by 5,5 meters is for use for guests only and has fantastic views over the surrounding area. The Alentejo is an idyllic tourism region for those seeking sun, sea, beach, relaxation, nature and local culture. It is also a year-round destination for fans of the great outdoors, with cycling, mountain biking, walking, horse riding, bird watching, nordic walking and water sports among the many touristic activities available.

SANTIAGO DO CACEM This land is a blend of maritime roast, pine forest and Alentejan inspiration. It is the country's second biggest municipality and its highest elevation is to be found in the Cercal hills at a height of 346 metres. From here one can see the vastness of the sea to the West Those travelling in this region who are interested in handicrafts can find chairs and stools made of wood and wicker at sao Bartolomeu da Serra and at Sao Domingos da Serra, saddlery at Santiago do Cacem and at Cercal do Alentejo, ceramics at Santo Andre and Ennidas Sado and woodwork and cork at Cercal do Alentejo. SANTO ANDRE LAGOON AND BEACHES Close by the sea lies the Santo Andre Lagoon, an excellent place for windsurfers. In addition to its wealth of fish, a large variety of water birds is also to be found, including duck, godwit, heron and grebe. Those with a love of beautiful places just to "sit and think", can rest at will in this peaceful spot and enjoy the fish or eel stews which, of themselves, are a promise of marvellous gastronomic holidays.
