Chalet Charlotte is located in Fusch an der Großglocknerstraße in the province of Salzburg, 13km south of Zell am See. The wonderful valley location with its mountain views on all sides provides an idyllic setting to relax away from the stresses of everyday life, whilst being close enough to all the attractions and amenities when required. The holiday region grossglockner-zellersee is one of the most unique in the Austrian Alps. On the way to the amazing Grossglockner high-alpine-road you will find our village of Fusch, and the gateway to the mountains of the ‘Höhe Tauern National Park’. Wake up to a filling continental breakfast and in the evenings enjoy a 3 course meal, with house wine provided free of charge. Part & non-catered options are also available, please ask for further details. Most of our rooms have their own balconies, and there is also an outdoor terrace, BBQ area and garden to relax in. We offer our own transfer service, whether it’s being collected from the airport or an early morning run to the ski lifts. (Subject to availability, please ask us for further details). Whatever the time of year the Zell am See-Kaprun region always has plenty to suit your tastes. There is almost every winter sport imaginable. And in the summer we’ve got mountain biking, rafting, sailing, golf, rock climbing, tennis, horse riding, and of course all the walking/ hiking trails you can handle, plus much much more. The nearby town of Zell am See is bursting with Austrian charm & character and the crystal clear waters of the lake combined with the surrounding mountains, really do provide a beautiful picture postcard setting. There are plenty of relaxing options too, whether that be a sightseeing & shopping trip to historic Salzburg or Innsbruck, to a leisurely boat trip around the lake or meadow walks. In short, whatever you’re looking for in your holiday, Chalet Charlotte is the place to stay whatever the season. We’re sure you’ll love it here, because we do! Most visitors to the Zell am See region who fly, do so into Salzburg airport which is a 75 minute journey by road. There is also a good train link direct to ‘Bruck-Fusch’. We will happily arrange a free transfer from either ‘Bruck-Fusch’ or ’Zell am See’ stations. Innsbruck, Munich and Klagenfurt are other airport options. Chalet Charlotte is at the South end of the village of Fusch. The village itself has many restaurants, a bakery, tourist information office, a petrol station with mini-market as well as a ski hire & bike rental shop. Directions by road: If you are coming towards Zell am See from the East on the B311, approximately 6km before Zell am See, take the exit marked Fusch, Bruck & the Großglocknerstraße. This will bring you out next to a Billa supermarket. Turn left at this junction and head straight over the bridge, following the signs for the Großglocknerstraße & Fusch. Stay on this road for 7km, it will take you through Fusch centre, past the Lampenhausl Hotel on your Left. Just after this, you will see a sports club on your Left and Chalet Charlotte is opposite this. If you are coming towards Zell am See from the North on the B311, approximately 2km before Zell am See centre, stay on the B311 and go through the tunnel, sign-posted Schüttdorf. Upon exiting the tunnel, take the 2nd turning (straight over) at each of the 3 roundabouts you come to, signposted Bischofshofen / Salzburg. After passing the Agip petrol station, take the next exit marked Fusch, Bruck & the Großglocknerstraße. Turn right at the end and follow the signs for the Großglocknerstraße & Fusch. Stay on this road for 7km, it will take you through Fusch centre, past the Lampenhausl Hotel on your Left. Just after this, you will see a sports club on your Left and Chalet Charlotte is opposite this. If you are coming towards Zell am See from the West on the B168, approximately 3km before Zell am See centre, join the B311 headed away from Zell am See signposted Bischofshofen / Salzburg. Then take the 2nd turning (straight over) at each of the 3 roundabouts you come to. After passing the Agip petrol station, take the next exit marked Fusch, Bruck & the Großglocknerstraße. The Zell am See region is a beautiful summer resort. The lake has a number of beaches and various water-sports can be undertaken in numerous locations around the lake. Remarkably the water temperature can reach up to 22 °C. If you wish to relax and gaze at the mountains from out on the water, then a scenic cruise or ferry crossing on lake Zell is a beautiful way to spend an hour or two. In peak season you can also take a night-time ‘twilight cruise’ around the lake accompanied with Accordian music from ’Harry’. Fusch itself lies in the ‘Hohe Tauern National Park‘. Here you will find wonderful meadows and gorges with wild flowers and waterfalls. The whole area is a paradise for Nordic walkers, ramblers and mountain bikers , as there are seemingly unlimited trails to explorer. Bike rentals are available in many locations including here in the village. ‘Tettenwand‘ and ‘Gletscherseeplatte‘ rock faces offer some excellent climbing for both novices and experts. Just an hours drive in any direction and you will find some of the most amazing attractions such as; the largest ice caves in the world at ‘Werfen‘, one of the highest waterfalls in the world at ‘Krimml‘, the ‘Grossglockner high alpine road‘, Salt & Copper mines and the historical area of ‘Berchtesgaden‘. Here in Fusch there is a ski slope suitable for children or beginners, on this slope there are two lifts, one small practice lift going up to 80m and for the more proficient learner one reaching 280m. Ski-school also takes place here with the office in the Village. In the winter there is a free ski bus service which stops 25 metres from the front door of the Chalet. This takes you to the nearby ski areas in Zell am See and Kaprun. There is ample parking (even in high season), both at the Areitbahn cable car giving you access to the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See (10 min drive), or the Maiskogel/ Kitzsteinhorn, in Kaprun (15 minutes' drive), where snow is guaranteed from November through to the end of May due to the Glacier. The ‘Skicircus’ region of Saalbach, Hinterglemm & Leogang is also in close proximity. Combined these three areas offer over 90 lifts and more than 330km of pistes.

Please note the owners of the property live on the upper floor and share an entrance. There is a no smoking policy in all areas. There is only 1 pet friendly room located on the ground floor. A breakage deposit of €500 must be provided in cash on arrival. Meals can be booked on request. Breakfast costs an additional €6 per person per day and evening meal €15 per person per day.
