Porto Martins is a civil parish in the municipality of Praia da Vitória, on the island of Terceira in the Azores. Porto Martins landscape is varied, characterized by rock-covered vineyards and orchards, particularly olive fields, which are uncharacteristic of the humid climate. Porto Martins beach is a small, quiet beach settled among rocks formed by ancient lava flows. As with many of the coastal areas on Terceira, this has interesting aspects due to the way the lava has set. This is a popular spot for surfers as it is a sheltered point break that has reliable surf. Although attractive all year round, autumn and winter are the best seasons for waves.
