Our holiday house is situated on the border of Toscana and Emilia Romagna. We, Cornelis and Gabriela, are an italian/dutch couple and restaured it in 2008. We live next door, will respect your privacy and will support you when needed. The green hill landscape of the Valle del Senio and the forest surrounding us are ideal for a relaxed holiday in Italy. Porcaticcio is located one and half hour by car from the international cultural towns of Florence, Ravenna and Bologna and the Adriatic coast, perfect for daily trips. Cornelis is a professional artist and, if you wish, you can paint and sculpture with his support. You can also practise yoga with Garbiela.

Porcaticcio di Sopra is located 6 km after Casola Valsenio, direction Palazzuolo sul Senio (Florence Province). The house is surrounded by trees and not visible from the main street, 350 meters below. Being out sight and fully in nature, Porcaticcio is a very quiet and relaxing place.

Casola Valsenio is a quiet village in the Senio Valley. Well known in Italy for its herbal garden which still grows very old varieties of fruit trees. Every year the third weekend of October a festival dedicated to the "Forgotten Fruits"(Frutti Dimenticati)attracts a lot of people. Another special Spring Festival takes place on 25th of April/1st May. A lot of villagers, grouped in the teams, are involved in the creation and presentation of very attractive contemporary charriots, on which young boys and girls are acting still with unusual costums. A jury is electing a winner. The natural landscape all around the village offers many possibility of exploration: trekking, mountain-biking, horse-riding. Cardello (the house of the poet Alfredo Oriani) and the Senio Basilica are the main cultural monuments, but a number of churches and stone mansions makes the surroundings really cosy.
