Casa Sofia is a luxury villa situated in very attractive rural setting amidst an orchard of almond trees in hilly countryside. From the house, swimming pool and poolside kitchen there are stunning panoramic views of mountain ranges across a beautiful valley. The house is equipped to a high standard. There is a wood burning stove, portable heaters and air-conditioning units for all year round comfort.The private swimming pool is heated all year. The pool-side kitchen, barbecue and dining area is spacious. This covered building has fitted kitchen, fridge freezer, hi-fi system and gas barbecue, table and chairs. The views are fabulous from the pool and poolside building.

Casa Sofia is situated in a very attractive, elevated rural setting amidst an orchard of almond trees in hilly countryside. From the house there are stunning panoramic views across a beautiful valley visited by a wide variety of birds, including birds of prey. The lovely, friendly village of Villanueva De La Concepción is 6 km away,a 10 minute drive. The nearest bar/restaurant, which is highly recommended by the owners, is 2km away at Pasteleros, a short car journey, or a pleasant 20 minute walk. El Torcal National Park with its famous natural limestone sculptures and various walking routes, lies above Villanueva and is 15 minutes away by car. Beyond El Torcal the beautiful historic town of Antequera with its many ancient churches, architecture and prehistoric caves is a 25 minute car journey from Villanueva. El Chorro Gorge, Cordoba and the White Towns, and, further afield, Seville, Granada and Gibraltar are day trips by car. Malaga and Malaga Airport are approximately 45 minutes by car and the drive to Costa del Sol resorts takes about one hour. The location is quiet, tranquil and peaceful. The views and sunsets are stunning from the house, outside kitchen and swimming pool. The owners, Nalini & Barry Cook, live in the nearest house, 80 m away, on the hillside above Casa Sofia. Nalini Cook offers painting classes at the house in her studio, terrace and surrounding countryside. The house is ideally situated for local walks, and generally for enjoying the deights of the natural surroundings.

Villanueva De la Concepción is a lovely, friendly village of 3000 inhabitants. It has traditional bars, restaurants, supermarkets, shops, banks and other facilities, such as the new municipal swimming pool, a large pool in grass lawn surroundings with its open air bar with views towards the Torcal. It is a safe, easy-going place in which to enjoy the delights of the frequent traditional festivals and events that take place in rural Andalucia. El Torcal National Park with its unique natural limestone sculptures and various walking routes, lies above Villanueva and is 10 minutes away by car. Energy saving: in order to save wasting energy, we have reduced our rates, but now charge guests for the electricity they consume while staying at Casa Sofia at the same price we pay the utility company. All services are charged extra, including:- excursions; transfers; School of Painting; Indian meals; home baked bread; Spanish language tuition; massage; beauty treatment. Car hire can be arranged. Tennis facilities and coaching can be arranged with the local hotel. Nalini Cook, the owner, offers painting classes for 75 Euros per day including lunch,all materials and use of her studio,terrace and environs for painting.
