Villa Athina is located in Porto Rafti, a charming old fishing village, a beautiful holiday resort that has not been deluged by too many tourists. Very convenient for the airport and downtown Athens. The sea is crystal clear with a variety of beaches, the nearest beach only 15 minutes, perfect for a Summer Sea and Sun Holiday or a Restful Winter Retreat. Contemporary furnished and air-conditioned, the house is fronted with a small herb garden for our guests\' use and there is a further garden to the side which provides a pleasant aspect sitting on the large patio area. From the 2 large L-shaped balconies of the house, you can enjoy the panoramic views of the mountains and to the sea. The house occupies 3 floors, is air-conditioned, centrally heated, fully equipped and furnished with style to combine the traditional outlook with all the internal modern conveniences. With a king size bedroom and en-suite bathroom, one double and two twin bedrooms, the villa sleeps up to 8, ideal for large families or \'get-togethers\', with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay.

Only a few minutes from our villa, you can enjoy swimming in shallow waters and sunbathing on beautiful sandy beaches, snorkeling, or diving off the rocky coast in the crystal clear waters. You can play tennis, horse-ride, enjoy water sports, hire a sailing boat or a canoe, dance the night away or just cool yourself with a freshly squeezed juice or \'nescaffe frappe\' at one of the sea front coffee shops or bars.  Worth visiting the \'Kastro = castle\' bar of Porto Rafti for the panoramic views of the bay.   Porto Rafti is only 12 km from Athens airport and we are served by very good public transport including the new metro (from the airport or Koropi), air-conditioned coaches to Athens (next to the National Museum) and our local reliable taxi firm. Driving to many destinations is simplicity itself with the new Attiki Odos motorway (10 Km). The Attica Zoological Park (a few minutes drive) is worth a visit, especially if you have children The pine forest of Kouvara is very close to our villa, where you can have a picnic, enjoy the playground and try the organic wine the monks make in one of the famous monasteries of this area. There are many ancient sites and temples in Attica that offer fantastic day visit, they include:  The impressive temple of Poseidon in Cape Sounio (20 min drive); also experience the sunset at this amazing location. The temple of Artemis and the museum in Vravrona about 7 km.  The burial mound and museum of Marathon, and of course  The Parthenon of Athens and museums. Ancient Corinth, Mycenae, Delphi and many other great places are also worth your visit, and offer easy day excursions.

Porto Rafti is a very popular summer destination for the Athenians, mostly undiscovered by tourists, located on the eastern coast of Attica, Greece, opposite the islands of Andros, Evia, Mykonos. You can hop to many Greek islands from the nearby ports of Lavrio and Rafina. We are conveniently placed near the Athens Airport (12 Km) while Athens is only 38 km away. The area is rich in history with many archaeological sites near by, offering the possibility of fantastic day trips. Porto Pafti has many beautiful sandy beaches with crystal clear water (awarded the blue flag for a number of years), restaurants and sea-front fish tavernas that serve fresh fish and seafood, traditional Greek dishes and delicious local wine. All main local amenities such as clubs and bars, patisseries and coffee shops, open-air cinemas, supermarkets and boutiques are within 5 minutes drive from the villa. There is a mini-market, a coffee shop and a traditional Greek taverna just 3-5 minutes walk from our property.
