The holiday house Rebecca lies with another 3 houses midway between the medioeval villages of Montemassi (5 km) and Roccatederighi (4 km) occupies an attractive position with a fantastic view up across the land to the sea. On the left of the photo you can see M 8 Rebecca, opposite M 8 Angelita (on the right of the photo), above, ca. 20 m beyond M 8 Mattia + M 8 Lazzaro. Postal office, bank, grocer’s shop and pizzeria restaurants are in Roccatederighi. The nearest seaside resort with sand beaches is 35 km, a lake 26 km and the river Farma 21 km away.

Montemassi, whose old town centre has retained the appearance of a compact hamlet at the foot of its gothic-style castle, has been made famous by the fresco portraying the castle during the assault lead by Guidoriccio da Fogliano in 1328. The fresco, attributed to Simone Martini, is preserved in the Palazzo Pubblico at Siena. The Sant’Andrea Apostolo Church, with some of its original furnishings still intact, is also well worth a visit. There are a couple of restaurant/pizzeria, one has a lovely view. During the summer the village hosts some open air events.
