Cosy small vacation house (130 years old) with grassturf roof for rent, suitable for 4 persons. Fantastic situation in an awful nature beauty where sea, fjord and majestetic Lofoten sea alpine mountains meet. The winter picture you see in the southwest direction. The cottage Torastua you find in the centre of that photo. The only nabour buildings here are the house of the owner (close to the sea) and two old farm houses (without domestic animals). Thus this location is a special peaceful holiday resort. The rent for this accommodation is from NOK 3 700 up to NOK 4 300/week, according to period. Rent of bed cloths: NOK 75/person. Please tell in advance if you need to rent bed cloths. The vacation house is for the moment not for rent in the winter time.

The romantic vacation house with sea view is situated in the bay Sortlandsvika at the end of the road Maervollveien, only 80 meters from the beach. Across this bay you see the almost 1000 meters high alpine mountains Himmeltindene (the Heaven Peaks) which rise up from the fjord Steinfjorden. Very peaceful. Rorbuer Lofoten: if there should be some more visitors to Maervoll, it is possible to find rorbu room accommodation in the seahouse Joh. L. Unstad Sjohus (Johluns) about 600 meters from the little vacation house Torastua. You may rent a rorbu room for 2 persons from NOK 400/night and a rorbu room for 6 persons from NOK 700/night. Special good oppurtunities for backpackers and low budget groups. The nearest air plane connection is at Leknes, 20 km from the vacation house. There is air connection from Leknes to Bodo (search for wideroe.no and then Bodoe-Leknes).

Mærvoll (Maervoll) is situated between Tangstad, Utakleiv and Unstad (Unnstad) on the northwestwern (Atlantic) part of the central Lofoten island and municipality Vestvågøy. An ideal area for trekking. Great hiking and fishing opportunities. In the proximity one can observe the midnight sun from the end of May until the middle of July. Special good conditions for sea surfing in the bay of Unstad. In Borg (10 km from Maervoll) you find the 83 m long Viking museum Lofotr. Here you may participate in rowing a Viking ship. The summer 2012 a Viking Festival will be taking place. On a height not far from the Viking museum you find the church of Borge. In Borg you will also find taxi station, café, second-hand car rental and grocery with postal service. On the island Gimsøy - 44 km from Maervoll - you may play golf.

Electrical heating. Bath with shower and toilet. Small kitchen with table, stove (3-ring stove and not only 2), refrigerator with freezer, sink and utensils. The living room has sofa, tables and chairs, cabinet, and book shelf with books in different languages. Downstairs there are also two small one person bedrooms. Upstairs the ceiling height is a little low, but here there is a bedroom with space for two adult persons. Solid outdoor benches and a table made of timber. The final cleaning of the house is not included in the rent amount. In the rent amount it is implied that the tenant does the final cleaning of the cottage, thus leaving it ready for the next guests. If not, the tenant is to pay 70 Euro for the final cleaning.
