Oria is a thriving all year round town. It’s atmospheric medieval centre is steeped in history and is overlooked by a beautiful domed cathedral and the medieval castle built by Frederick II of Swabia. Part of its historical centre was a jewish quarter between 9th and 11th century and still today is possible to admire the typical urban architecture and a single detached house considered as the ancient Sinagoge. It is situated equidistant between the Adriatic & Ionian coast, 30 minutes drive to Brindisi airport, Ostuni and the Trulli district. Driving to the stunning sandy beaches on Jonian Sea ( 20 km far ) you cannot miss the typical wineris of Manduria, world famous for its ruby, deep, robust red wine called Primitivo. Lecce, the Florence of the South, is just 50 km far away.
