Casa de flores @ 54/73 Mer, Proendos 27460 Sober Galicia Spain is a row of 4 old cottages partly build of stone and partly build of brick. They have been lovingly renovated to form a 2 bed room apartment / house with a secluded and shaded garden and another house and yard / garden with a separate entrance, which is where we live. The rental comfortably sleeps 2 & 1 or 1 & 1 . It is on the first floor with cellars underneath. A typical galician kitchen and it's "cocina economica" , a large lounge with a wood burner, a bed room with a large double bed and a small second bed room with a single bed. A bath room with shower (hot) under floor warming and downstairs access to a shaded garden with ample seating. We have central heating, so if it turns cold - no worries. The fridge lives in the "old" smoking room which is upstairs beside the kitchen.

Nearby (3.5Km / 2m) is Sober with about 150 permanent inhabitants but boasts 2 supermarkets, bars, a restaurant, 3 pharmacies and a twice monthly market. About 10Km (6m) is Monforte a small but busy little town with ample shopping and a ll the amenities one needs. Lugo, the old walled city is about 90 minutes. Ourense / Orense with its hot (thermal) bath and lovely old town is 40 minutes away.

Mer is a small hamlet with about 7 lived in houses. It's rural country side and at one end is a large(ish) farm and even our neighbor has a cow, a donkey, some sheep and chickens. Every day except Sunday the bread van comes at around 10am - that's it.
