In the westward direction from Plakias, first there is nothing but the coast and some secluded hotels, until after some 1,500 meters the small bay of Souda with it's sandy beach opens. Villa Talos stands immediately above this bay, enjoying views of the beach, the mountains and the Libyan Sea. On the 10,000 sqm property there are carob-, fig- and olive-trees. The sandy beach is 80 meters away.

Plakias is an old fishing-village on the south coast of the district of Rethymnon. It is known to individual tourists since some years, but still rather untouched by mass tourism. Around the port and further on eastward along the sandy beach which lines the bay, some smaller hotels and apartment facilities row up.
