Borgo del Poggio is lying on a panoramic hill at the southern edge of Rome. One of the most important streets of the Roman Empire, Via Appia Antica (today a huge archaeological park), with its antique monuments as the sepulchre of Cecilia Metella or the Catacombs is close by. Rome Ciampino airport is just 4km away. Due to the excellent position close to the Great Roman Ringroad the Albano Hills aswell as Ostia,the roman beach, are easy to reach. Magic places like Assisi, Perugia and Orvieto or Pompei, Naples and the Amalfi-coast in the south are excellent destinations for a day-trip.
