We have three fantastic log cabins in a West Wales woodland site near Cenarth. Perfect for romantic breaks for couples or families up to 4 people, Caban Cariad makes an ideal bolthole where you can enjoy the best of the Welsh coast and country, dine on some of Britain's best seafood and freshest organic produce, or just relax in beautiful rural surroundings. Each cabin sleeps up to 4, well-behaved dogs are allowed. Caban Cariad was designed along Scandinavian lines in 1973, and has been recently refurbished with great furnishings that celebrate the best in 1960s and 1970s design. Genuine designer pieces have been mixed with mod cons such as a digital TV/DVD, contemporary pebble fire etc. So its 1970s groovy, not 1970s grim!

What to do? The cabin makes a perfect bolthole for relaxation, lounging about and reading the weekend papers. However there is also plenty to do locally. If you don't want to catch your own salmon at the falls then enjoy one of the excellent local restaurants, or try some of the award-winning 'Caws Cenarth' cheese at the farmhouse dairy where it is made. A short drive (7 miles) down the beautiful Teifi valley takes you to the West Wales coast, with numerous blue-flag beaches and Europe's largest colony of bottle-nose dolphins. The cabin is in the heart of Welsh-speaking Wales, and the regional Arts Centre at Theatr Mwldan in Cardigan (7 miles) has events every night of the year, and free art exhibitions open daily. On-Site Facilities: If you don't feel like venturing far from the cabin door then enjoy the way-marked forest footpaths, relax in the heated (outdoor) pool or take a sauna (photo on right >). The pool (free to use any time) is open from Whitsun (late May) to mid September and the sauna is available from Good Friday at Easter to the end of October (about £2 per adult per use, payable on site). There is plenty to do on the doorstep, and you can walk down to the heritage centre, National Coracle museum, great pubs, and traditional tea-rooms. So you can leave the car behind once you've arrived. So at any time of the year there will be a pub serving good food, and a shop selling the essentials, within walking distance.

Where? Caban Cariad is nestled in the trees at Penlan woodland holiday village in Cenarth on the border between Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire (Click for Map). It is a very (very) quiet, quality holiday village of privately owned cabins carefully landscaped into acres of woods. Good pub food (serving fresh sewin and salmon) is just a short walk, as are the famous water-falls in the village.
