Bled , Bled , Slovenia

Many visitors to Bled will arrive via Ljubjlana airport. It is about 40 minutes away by car and costs. Both Easyjet and Wizzair fly to the airport. The town of Bled is located on the shore of the lake. It has many hotels, bars and restaurants. Once at Bled it is possible to walk around he lake - approximately 4 miles. This will enable good views of the castle and island church. Lake swimming is possible between late May and mid September. The water temperature in Julky can be as high as 24 degreees celcius. Lake fishing is also possible, subject to the purchase of a relevant license. Rowing boats can be hired from several places for around 10 euros per hour. There are many bars and restaurants, most with outside areas, including an english pub and an irish bar. The local bus service enables easy travel to Lake Bohinj - about 40 minutes away - for a change of scenery.
