Pépoulie is a typical farmhouse of South West France, built before the French Revolution, with 19th century additions. Sensitively restored, with all modern facilities, including a 12 x 5 metre swimming pool. It is a kilometre north of the village of Puylaurens, between Toulouse and Castres, and enjoys over 2000 hours of sunshine a year. It consists of the house itself, stables converted into the gîte, and a workshop. Situated on the crest of a hill, in the middle of a hectare of land (around two and a half acres), it has panoramic views of the rolling countryside all around. Growing around the house are cherries, pears, plums, figs, grapes and apples, which our guests are welcome to pick. This area of SW France, in the Tarn département of the Midi-Pyrénées region, is known as "the French Tuscany". It is rich in history and culture - the Occitan language, Cathars and the château of Saissac, cassoulet, pays de cocagne, wine - and just about every village and town around has something worth exploring or experiencing.
