The house is located in Sambaqui, a small fishing village on the north west of the island. The west coast of the island is one of the few places in Brazil where you can watch the sunset over sea, and people come for sundowners and oysters in the superb seafood restaurants here. There are treks and bike rides, as well as craft shops, a ceramics studio and an arts and crafts market
