“Trullo del Castaldo” is a real trullo of the XVIII century, a unique example of spontaneous architecture realized in local stone and situated in the suggestive “Itria Valley” of Apulia, better known as the Trulli Valley or “Trullishire”, between the provinces of Bari and Brindisi, ideal for a very relaxing holiday, in a green garden of secular trees. The Trullo of the Castaldo is famous, since it was, until the beginning of the century, the residence of a "castaldo", who collected tax for the owner of the entire “contrada Pignataro”, and also took care of the administration of the justice. According to a legend, famous to the inhabitants of the contrada, the last castaldo, known for his greed, died in mysterious circumstances, and would have hidden a treasure in one of the thick walls of the trullo.Equipped with all comfort, "Trullo del Castaldo" consists of 2 different and adjacent groups of trullos that you can rent separately. First group has 4 bedrooms. One of them with private bathrooms.All bedrooms are furnished with a double bed (one of them with triple bed) and heated by radiators. Moreover, the Trullo del Castaldo has 2 other bathrooms, a peasant living-room with open fireplace, a lunch room, 1 kitchen with accessories, a firewood oven and barbecue. All the rooms are equipped with TV and satellite system. The second group, named "Trullo del melograno" consists of 1 bedroom with bathroom, outside kitchen, gazebo with table and barbecue.The furnishing is in country style, a typical peasant style of these zones. The trullo is surrounded by a fruit garden, pine trees and the typical stone walls.of the Apulia countryside. The Trullo have a common swimming pool with solarium. Finally, the Trullo of the Castaldo is equipped with a small astonomical observatory.
