My holiday hause is situated in northeastern Poland on the lakesides: Tyrklo and Sniardwy (German: der Spirdingsee) - the largest lake in Poland with an area of 113.2 km².( It is 22.1 km long and 13.4 km wide. Maximum depth is 23 m. Eight islands are located on the lake).The region`s name Masuria comes from Mazurian ethnic group, Polish settlers from Mazovia who repopulated much of the area after its conquest by the Teutonic Knights. The area is often referred to as "a land of a thousand lakes".
