Premium Holiday Apartment

The holiday apartments in Landhaus Marga are modernly furnished, in top condition, and invite you to a relaxing vacation. Particularly, the kitchens are high-quality and fully equipped. Last but not least, it should be mentioned that bicycles are also available. The 5 stars are definitely well-deserved. The landlords are very friendly and helpful. Ebing is an ideal starting point for various tours in the beautiful Franconian Switzerland. We will gladly come back.

First of all, thank you very much for the great 2 weeks we were able to spend in Ebing with the Landgraf family.
As far as the flat is concerned, no matter whether it is equipped, cleanliness etc., we can only say full 5 stars all along the line.
For the welcome there was even 1 piccolo in the fridge for the lady, as well as 2 bottles of "Nothelfer beer" for the gentleman.
You can't visit all the great surroundings and sights in 14 days.
We were to mention only a few e.g. in Teufelshöhle in Pottenstein, in the Obermain Therme in Bad Staffelstein, in Bayreuth to name but a few.
Culture and history without end.
We felt very comfortable and will certainly come back again
What we will definitely do is to recommend the Landgraf family as hosts and their great apartment.

Very pleasant stay

+ very spacious + very high quality and tasteful furnishings + large furnished balcony + absolutely quiet location + nice landlords + parking spaces at the front door

The holiday flat occupies the entire first floor, the landlords live on the ground floor. The furnishing is absolutely complete. The house is very quietly situated at the edge of the small village Kemmern. However, the village does not have much to offer. The (still very tame) river Main flows nearby, and in 15 minutes on foot you can reach an idyllically situated quarry pond behind the sports field, which doesn't have a beach, but is enough for cooling off after a day of excursions. There is a small playground at the sports field, as well as a fenced-in and well-maintained playground behind the cemetery. We travelled by car, you can get to Bamberg in no time and Bayreuth quickly by motorway. The neighbouring village of Baunach is pretty. You have to go shopping in the neighbouring village of Breitengüßbach, in Kemmern there are only bakers and butchers. Another thing we noticed: even in the tourist strongholds like Bamberg and even more so in the smaller towns, you can eat typical regional food very inexpensively, and the density of inns is also very high. We will be happy to come back!

Little Venice in Upper Franconia

The Old Town of Bamberg has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993. The Old Town Hall is one of the most significant buildings in the city center. It is located on an artificial island in the middle of the Regnitz River. The district Little Venice includes many buildings, some of which are built on wooden piles. From the Upper and Lower Bridges, you have a wonderful view of the Fishermen's Houses from the 17th century. The largest folk festival in Bamberg, the Sandkerwa, is also not to be missed. In Bamberg Cathedral, artworks from various epochs are still on display today, including the famous Bamberg Horseman. On the outskirts of Bamberg is the forest adventure trail "Experience Bruderwald". At 20 stations, there is information about the forest and forestry there.

A special specialty in Bamberg is the smoked beer. There are still 8 traditional breweries in the city today. At "Schlenkerla", you experience real beer tradition. Bamberg smoked beer and delicious snacks are on the menu. The Upper Franconian cuisine is rather hearty, sausages, sauerkraut, pork roast, dumplings - all at reasonable prices. Moreover, the people of Upper Franconia like their famous "Bamberger Hörnla", which refers to both a type of potato and a pastry. Bamberg wine is also highly appreciated. Culinary tip: Try blue tips, Franconian knuckle with smoked beer sauce, or Bamberg onions. Also suitable for budget-friendly cooking in the holiday apartment. Or pay a visit to the "Weinwirtschaft Fischerei." The Bierothek by David Hertl is also worth a visit. Hertl is considered Bavaria's youngest and wildest craft beer brewer. Masterpieces and Renowned Ensembles

The New Residence stands on Cathedral Square. With more than 40 living and state rooms, a visit is worthwhile. The baroque Emperor's Hall is particularly impressive. Admission costs 6€ regular, 5€ reduced. The New Residence is open at the following times (as of August 2023): • April – October 3: daily 9 AM – 6 PM • October 4 – March: daily 10 AM – 4 PM Since 1968, the State Gallery has been located in the New Residence. Here you can see masterpieces of German, Flemish, and Dutch painting. In the Rose Garden of the Residence, there are still statues of Roman deities. Admission here is free. The nearby Old Court is one of the most important Renaissance buildings in Germany. Right next to the cathedral stands the Historical Museum Bamberg - with impressive exhibits on the history of Bamberg. Admission for adults 19 and over costs 8€. In the courtyard, the Calderón Festival takes place in the summer. The festival is hosted by the E.T.A. Hoffmann Theater.
