Las Terrenas is located 7 km from the El Portillo air strip, but can be also be reached over a 17 km stretch of paved road from Sanchez. The distance to Puerto Plata is 175 km and 225 km to Santo Domingo. Hotel Residence Playa Colibri lies 1,5 km from the center of Las Terrenas on the road to Playa Bonita. At present a new motorway is under construction, making future road travel to Las Terrenas much faster and easier.
