The Szent Orbán Erdei Hotel**** opened in May 2003 with 30 rooms and a suite. All rooms are spacious and have baths, phones, Internet access, cable television, refrigerators and hair dryers. Some rooms have balconies or terraces. The Inn*** built in 1995, next to the hotel, has 11 twin rooms and two suites – all equipped with the same amenities as the hotel: phones, cable television, refrigerators and hair dryers. Wide range of sporting activities: The 25 metre, open-air heated pool is an all-time favourite of our guests, where one can relax sunbathing, enjoying a swim or just idle with a cool drink. Next to it the children’s pool, two tennis courts, mountain bike tracks, hunting grounds a real Scandinavian sauna complete with a cooling pool, massage and a solarium make the list of activities complete. Walks in the extensive forests surrounding the hotel, lake fishing (only 9 km from the hotel), and hunting are available for the more adventurous. Those who prefer the indoors and the night-life, the bowling alley and bar will allow guests to relax as well, and take advantage of the gorgeous pool and ping-pong tables. Just opened in the neighbouring forest is Hungary’s premier Forest Adventure Park where you can test your fitness and endurance by climbing steep rocks, walking on suspended rope bridges then sliding down a cable.

Szent Orban Forest Hotel in the Danube-Ipoly National Park The Danube-Ipoly National Park was established in November of 1997. In the centre of the park are the picturesque Danube Bend, the Pilis Mountains, the Visegrád Hills, and the Börzsöny Mountains. The undisturbed part of the Ipoly Valley itself, as well as Szentendre Island, is also in park. The greatest assets of the Danube-Ipoly National Park are the beauty of its landscape and its rich ecosystem. Among the more notable of the landscape features are the marvellous scenery of the Danube Bend and the High Börzsöny's untouched system of peaks, rightly seen as a world-class panorama. The many types of habitat found here explain the great variety of wildlife in the National Park, the abundance of rare and protected species. This is largely the result of the nature of the bedrock, the undulating terrain and the presence of water. More than 2000 plant species and thousands of animals have made the ever-changing conditions of the National Park their home. This includes over 700 protected and strictly protected species. The Danube-Ipoly National Park service handles 8 landscape protection areas outside the park and 29 conservation areas both in Budapest and around the capital. The Buda Landscape Protection "Szénás" Mountain Group, where the natural ecology was recognised as internationally important, was awarded the European Council Europa Diploma in 1995. The Dolomite steppes here are the only place in the world where the Pilis linseed grows. In the part of this conservation area where hiking is permitted, visitors are free to go independently provided they observe the basic rules of environment protection and conservation. There are many education centers, exhibition places and nature trails for those who would like to know more about the natural world.

The Szent Orbán Erdei Hotel**** is only a one-hour drive from Budapest and can be accessed by the Nagybörzsöny forest rail line, as well. Recommended access routes: 1. Budapest - Vác - Szob exit (Highway 2), to Highway 12 through Verôce. After Verôce, turn right onto road under railway tracks to Kóspallag. From that village, follow the signs to the hotel. 2. Budapest - M3 motorway - take the Hont, Vác exit and continue on Motorway 2/A to the Szob exit. Drive on highway 12 through Verôce. After Verôce, turn right onto road under railway tracks in direction Kóspallag. From the village follow the signs to the hotel.
