Our property - your vacation home on time - is at a narrow road directly above the river. Its 1400 square meter largely, with terraces, with wild-romantic garden, vineyard and various terraces for barbeque, relaxing or sunbathing. The railway station is at the opposite river side. Rathen, first mentioned documentarily in 1261, developed quickly from a little village dwelled by people working at a quarry and on boats to a Saxon holiday destination with a large demand. Although Rathen is a quiet resort it can provide a well organized public transport system and therefore is especially in demand with people seeking relaxation far away from all the hustle and bustle in busy cities in between steep rock massifs, wild valleys and on romantic hiking tracks. In the valley at the well- known massif Bastei in the middle of the Saxon Switzerland you will find an enchanting change to your every day life. From the middle of May to beginning of September you are able to visit one of the most delightful natural theatres in Germany and there people can enjoy many performances of different kinds just right for everyone. Here it is possible to experience Karl May spectacles, plays for children, operas, operettas and plays of different nature all in front of an unforgettable background. While relaxing during a rowing boat tour on the Amselsee (Lake Black Bird) or listening to the music of the "Sound Terrace" you can forget your every day stress.
