Great family accommodation

We stayed at Haus Münster for a weekend with 16 people (10 adults/6 children). The accommodation was clean and we liked it very much. There are four flats, and if you add the beds on the second floor, you could say there are five flats. The highlight is the party basement, where we could easily all stay/eat/play together - including the large kitchen. It was perfect for a large group. We can definitely recommend this accommodation.

... this is how our vacation week can be described. The beautifully located and well-equipped cottage offers a perfect starting point for numerous activities (dog hiking, snowboarding, going out for delicious food ...) but also all amenities for cozy days and evenings "at home" (fireplace, sofa, well-equipped kitchen, a very comfortable bed ...).
It is also worth mentioning the practical utility room and the very comfortably sized bathroom for the size of the house!

Culturally very important is the Brilon town hall from the 13th century, surrounded by beautiful half-timbered houses on the lovely market square. In front of it flows the also historical Petruskump (fountain). However, the landmark of Brilon is the church of St. Petrus and St. Andreas from the 13th/14th century with its 63 m high tower in Baroque style. In addition to the many protected churches and chapels in and around Brilon, the "Haus Hövener" museum is a MUST-DO. Beyond the borders of Sauerland, "Siegerländer Krüstchen" is well-known, consisting of a "bread edge" topped with a schnitzel and fried egg. Do you know what "Potthucke" is? It's a potato casserole made from raw and cooked, coarsely grated potatoes mixed with cream/sour cream, bacon, or sausage cubes. This dish, which sticks to the bottom of the pot and hence called "Das-Was-Im-Pott-Hockt," is served with pumpernickel and beet syrup. Easier to understand are "Ajjjerkaes" or "Sejerlänner Riewekooche," if you pronounce the words out loud (Siegerland egg cheese and Siegerland potato pancakes). "Eierkäs" is a dessert, and the regional potato pancakes are often eaten as bread. The mixture of grated potatoes is baked in the oven. "Möpkebrot" might also confuse you, as it is a cooked sausage specialty that includes grains and is refined with apples or raisins. During your gourmet vacation in Sauerland, you must try the Sauerland beer "Märzen," which is still brewed traditionally and therefore takes much longer to reach your table.
