The resort “LE SCUDERIE” was created in the triangle between Donoratico’s seaside, Castagneto Carducci and Bolgheri. This resort, literally immersed in green and situated at only two miles from the sea, consists of 14 apartments with all the comforts and a fully-furnished reserved garden. All the apartments are located in the “Greppi Cupi” Farm in the middle of magnificent vineyards producing an excellent red wine, winner of several prestigious international awards (like the “Decanter”). All the apartments were designed keeping in mind our guests’ well-being. This is why they have heat and acoustic insulation, floor heating and air conditioning. They are equipped with video entryphone and satellite tv. Fireplaces heat the atmosphere during the long winter evenings and bright light floods through large glass windows during summer days. Our guests have at their disposal: a spacious garden, a private swimming-pool and a covered relaxation space furnished with tables, chairs and sofas, where they can spend some time in perfect calm, having a rest, reading a good book or having a barbecue.

“LE SCUDERIE” is in the heart of the charming countryside of northern Maremma, in the surroundings of Donoratico, at only 2 miles from the sea, the perfect place for your holidays in Tuscany. You can easily walk to the nearest village, where you will find all main services: supermarket, chemistry, restaurant, pub, newsagent and railway station (Rome-Livorno line). Several shops are open on Sundays in any season. You will have a large choice of folkloristic events typical of Maremma. More information on page events/itinerary/surroundings “LE SCUDERIE” is ideally located because of the proximity to the most beautiful beaches of southern Tuscany as well as to the islands of the archipelago, very close to the coast. Pisa is at 50 miles, Lucca at less than 60, Siena at less than 70 and Florence at 90 miles.

This charming little town, grown up along the Aurelia road, thrives between sea and countryside, rich in shops, restaurants and very well equipped with all kind of services. Located half-way between Castagneto and its marina, it owes its name to a Middle-Age castle, very close to the village. It is possible to visit its ruins and the tower. Donoratico, a very lively small village with a great number of shops, including handicrafts, is very well-known because of its firms specialized in building racing and pleasure boats. In Donoratico, you can buy all the typical products of the region: wine, olive oil, vegetables, fish and meat, the typical “fresh pasta”, filled with vegetables and cheese. Since a long time, Donoratico and Marina di Castagneto hold the “Blue Flag” awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) in association with COBAT, to all municipalities and tourist dockings where the sea is the clearest and bluest in our country. Castagneto Carducci is located in the heart of Maremma livornese, in the middle of the so-called Costa degli Etruschi. The land is flat along the coast, where you can find the important Faunal Reserve of Bolgheri, whereas inland is hilly. The coastal strip is typified by vast pinewoods, planted following the land reclamation done during 19th century in order to protect the rearward agricultural lands.
