The scenic footpaths and cycle routes are in close vicinity - as is the Koppenwinkel lake in the nearby Nature Reserve which is a short walk away. About 2km from our house is the Hallstatt lake with its bathing beach, boat hire etc.

Take the Dachstein World Heritage Cable Car up to the fascinating Giant Ice Cave or visit the impressive Mammoth Cave. There are also numerous hiking trails up to the Krippenstein and the Dachstein plateau.Enter sparkling ice palaces in the mystic depths of the mountain or marvel at the subterranean force of water in the Koppenbrueller caves down in the valley.Obertraun is an idyllic location in which to escape the stresses and strains of everyday life, all year round.
