Description and Accommodation
Our Bed and Breakfast has different areas: a living room with an open kitchen, a separate bathroom with whirlpool on the second floor, and a mezzanine bedroom on the third floor. You can sleep in an double extra long bed, especially for tall people.
The living room comprises a drawing room with leather furniture, a dining-table for four people, television and video, hifi and the possibility for internet access.
The kitchen has an automatic dishwasher, induction cooking hobe, fridge and a microwave. You can cook meals in the kitchen. There is a breakfast buffet included every morning. Breakfast is served in the B and B.
There is a jaccuzi and a shower in the bathroom. Of course, you also have a private lavatory and a wash basin with hot and cold water.
Ours is a step-roofed house, typical of Bruges. We have a single apartment to rent. You have to pass through our hall to reach to the second floor, but your privacy is guaranted. Our street is not a residential street with very little tourist accommodation. It gives the opportunity for you to see how Bruges people live.
Our house and its surroudings
Our B & B has a view over the ancient part of the Bruges city centre. You can see the Towers of Bruges (Hallentoren and the Our Lady's Church, Sint-Salvators Cathedral). There are plenty of parking place in front of our house and it is for free ! You can also use two bikes for day trips.
Supermarket, post office, bank, bistro and restaurants, bakery, butcher, library are within walking distance.
Bruges and surroudings
The B & B is in walking distance (10 minutes) of the ancient city centre. At the end of our street you can take the bus to the centre or to the railway station. Our house is located at the "Ezelpoort". Ezel is the Dutch word for donkey. The "Ezelpoort" is one of the several entrances to the ancient part of the city. It is a part of the runed wall around the mediaeval town. The name of the neighbourhood is called "Stubbekwartier", or "Stubbe Quartier".
Architecture of our House
The architecture and the furnishings in the B & B are an interesting mix of industrial and natural materials. The architecture fits in the neighbourhood of Stubbekwartier. Our house was, like so many others built in the twenties (1923), just after the First World War. It was the German industrial Stubbe who planned the neighbourhood. You can still see the "De Nieuwe Molens", an industrial flour mill that is rebuilt as a living project with luxury apartments on the banks of one of Bruges' canals.
Who we are?
Mike Goudeseune and Mike Deschamps are the owners of the house. We are both 30-ers. We bought this house 5 years ago. We have two Amazonian-parrots in our living room. Sometimes you can hear them in the morning.
We like to travel too, so we hope to give you the same hospitality as we have received in several countries we have visited.
Prices and Rules
Respect for each other is the basis for living in a town. So please be quite at night time. We do not allow smoking in the house. You can receive friends in your apartment. The furnishings in the house are completly new, so please take care not to cause any damage.
Price: 125,00€ (euro) per one night (breakfast included). You have to book a minimum of two nights. The apartment accommodates two people plus 2 (2 in master bedroom and 2 in living room).
Reservation is necessary and completed on payment of 30% in advance. The reminder has to be paid on arrival. We only accept cash (sorry, no cheques, bankcard, Visa or Mastercard).
Cancellation is possible until one month before arrival. We charge a 10% administration fee.
For bookings of more than two nights, we give a discount (ask us for more details).
