Villa Irene is a comfortable apartment facility immediately by the beach road of Livadia near Ierapetra. It consists from 2 buildings which frame large gardens with flowers, trees, a swimming pool and a separate paddling-pool. In the gardens there is also a pavillon with a barbecue and a traditional bake-oven, and a TV corner. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available on the sun terrace which frames the swimming pool, and in the pavillon there are bamboo garden furniture. The facility furthermore has a Spa pool, a sauna, and a private parking area. The frontward building covers 6 dwelling units with central heating, which can be used also during the winter months. Two of them have open fireplaces as well. The rear building covers another 6 dwelling units, and 2 maisonnettes. The units are of different sizes and can accommodate from 2 up to 4 persons. Each of them has a living-room, partly with bed or convertible sofa, a separate bedroom either with a double bed or with two single beds, a bathroom with WC, balcony or terrace (partly with sea view), satellite TV set and air conditioning. Each living-room has a dining-area with an integrated kitchenette. There is an electric hob, a small oven, an extractor fan, a refrigerator with freezer compartment, and a sink. Villa Irene is located approx. in the suburb's center, straight by the coastal road. On the road's other side, the miles long sandy beach spreads in both directions. During daytime there is a regular public bus service to Ierapetra, the bus stop is 100 meters away. Iraklion airport is 95 kms away, Sitia airport 65 kms.

Livadia is one of the hotel suburbs of Ierapetra which is Europe's southernmost town on the south east coast of Crete. It lies by the coastal road from Ierapetra (1 km) to Makrighialos (25 kms). Besides the beauty of nature, the area also provides the highest temperatures and the highest number of sunny days in Europe and therefore during both the summer and the winter is a most popular holiday site for sun lovers. Kato Mera, the old town of Ierapetra, is of typical Mediterranean flair and has many small shops and workshops where hand-made souvenirs of many kind are offered. The Venetian fortress which looks very much like the one at Frangokastello is also worth a visit.
