Because of the continuous supply of fresh water a true fly-fishing paradise. The ones to catch are Trout & Dace. The minerals in the water, coming from the mountain slopes, color the lake brightly Turquoise in the sun. This reservoir belongs, together with a number of other barraged lakes in the area, to an extensive hydro-electric generation network. The water levels of these reservoirs therefore, can differ considerably from day to day.
The six-person cable-car railway runs up to the middle station Grünsee and a second cable-car goes up to Alpinzentrum Rudolfshütte (2352 m), at the Weißsee Glacier-terrace. Ten kilometers South of Enzingerboden lies the highest mountain of Austria, the Großglockner (3798 m) in the middle of Hohe Tauern National Park. The area contains large patches of eternal snow and forms a high terrace worn out by historic glaciers.
In the summer, surrounded by abundant nature, endless variations of hiking tours are available. It can be over woody mountain slopes or green Alpine meadows, it can be along the eternal snow patches at the glacier-terrace or the many crystal clear mountain reservoirs and spectacular waterfalls.

Additional Information
At the glacier skiing area Uttendorf-Weißsee, situated directly at the Alps main crest surrounded by a majestic high-alpine panorama with 22 striking summits of which 12 reaching above 3.000 meters, it's all about three things: Snow, Skiing and Boarding. Especially backland and off-piste fanatics are served on their convenience. The clean slope area may 'just' be 20 kilometers; the powder (Tiefschnee) and touring opportunities are virtually unlimited.
The valley-station Enzingerboden provides a practical ski-depot, a sports shop with ski rental and a service center for damaged gear. The six-person cable-car railway runs up the mountain to Rudolfshütte Alpine center (Austrian Alpine-union), in two stages. Here a two-person chairlift leads up the Medelzkopf to a height of 2600 meters and besides there are four ski tows (J-bar). The level of difficulty of the total amount of down hills is easy to medium. Enthusiasts of long runs will certainly appreciate the six kilometers long Grünsee downhill. The area is marked family friendly: at the bottom of the Grünsee descent there is a nursery slope and the opportunity to do classes and kids-entertainment programs. The ticket office sells reduced family ski-passes and each family takes two kids till the age of 12 for free. Youths till 18 get a 30% discount.
Besides the famous neighbour at the Kitzsteinhorn, the Weißsee glacier-terrace is the most snow guaranteed area in the region. Because of its favourable geographic position, the area benefits as well from snowfall from the north as from the south. No shortage of fresh powder. Another advantage is the large slopes and capacious lifts that make waiting times to a rarity. Cross-country skiers can follow a 250 kilometers long run through the valley, the so-called Pinzgau-Loipe. When there's a shortage of snow in the valley the cross-country skier also benefits the snow guaranteed Weißsee area. The middle station Grünsee at a height of 1750 meters offers a 3 kilometers long cross-country run.
In the season there's a free of charge ski bus transfer to the Europa Sportregion of Zell am See and Kaprun with all-year-round ski possibilities on the Kitzsteinhorn at a height of more than 3000 meters.
