Thanks to friends in the region (one of them an architect with many relations to the local craftsmen) our attention was drawn to Saint-Pierre and after a first visit, in October 2005, we were convinced that Saint Pierre was “our” village. Five months later we acquired the villa “La Diat”, built in 1926 and in serious need for some renovation. From June through November 2006, the villa was thoroughly renovated and turned into two very spacious and luxureous appartments, each with its own entrance. New kitchens, new bathrooms, double glazed windows, wall and floor insolation, a new electricy network, a new heating system - we can’t think of anything (but ther character of the building on the outside) that was not changed. When creating this web-site,the provision of furniture is still to take place (in January and February 2007). Our philosophy (when it comes to the furnishing, as well as to the size of the two appartments): the surrounding may spak for itselves but in the evenings and on a day when you do not wish to go out, you want to feel comfortable as well. Nothing more frustrating then being packed in a small studio with a large family on a rainy day! At “La Diat” you will find space.(No pets and no smoking.
Appartment - 8 persons - Ground Floor + First Floor: situated on a quiet road (used only for local traffic). Entrance on the front side or the Northern side of the villa (kitchen). On the ground floor: parents’ bedroom with 160x 200 Cms bed, children’s room with 4 single beds. Bathroom with bath and separate shower. Toilet. Skis can be stored in the ‘technical room’ (Chaufferie). On the first floor: fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, large frigerator/deepfreezer, electric cooktop with 5 high performance elements, dual convection oven, microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer). Large Flat Screen TV, Home Cinema System. Open fire place. 2 Persons sofa-bed. Second toilet. Small terrace. Parking.
Appartment - 10 persons - 2nd + 3rd Floor: separate entrance at the rear side of the villa.Cupboard for storing skis etc. Salon TV, kitchen and dinner area identical to 1st floor(exception: absence of open fire). 3rd Floor: Toilet. Bathroom with bath and separate shower.Very large parent’s bedroom with separate shower facility. Two children’s bedrooms with 3 single beds each.Sizeable cupboards in all rooms. Within the triangle Grenoble (17 miles) - Chambéry (25 miles) - Voiron (16 miles) lies a charming village in in the middle of the still rather unknown Naturel Régional de Chartreuse : Saint Pierre de Chartreuse (please visit http://www.st-pierre-chartreuse.com/. A wonderful place for all seasons. (The Chansonnier Jacques Brel had already discovered this a few decades ago - for quite a number of years he has lived in the village). Here you do not find mass tourism. The ski runways and the ski school are computed on families, not on “jet setters”. Especially for holiday makers who love to be active in a beautiful natual area, Saint Pierre and surroundigs are fantistic, both in winter and in summer. Small Boutiques and cosy restaurants. Although the larger ski areas and the cities of Grenoble, Voiron and Chambery are within easy reach, we think that you will spend most of your time in Saint Pierre itself.

Additional Information
On the owner's website (www.alliedproperty.net) you will find the renting prices for the complete villa as well as the prices for renting the apartment(s) individually. Arrivals are scheduled on Saturdays between 04.00 p.m. and 07.30 p.m. Departures also on Saturdays, prior to 10:00 a.m. Additional charges are as follows: for the use of electricity: € 0,15 per kWh. (Mandatory) renting of bedlinen and towels (2 per person, per stay):€ 12. Replacement (during your stay) at € 12 per person. Cleaning charges (at the end of your stay):€ 60 (8 persons appartment) and € 80 (10 persons appartment). Upon arrival a security deposit of € 500 -in cash- will be due per appartment. Under deduction of charges (and possible damages) this will be reimbursed on the date of departure.
Prices are in Euros per week, exclusive of charges for cleaning, bedlinen & towels and electricity.
