Pescara

The wiew was incredible! We loved to look at it both at the window and while sitting outside. We have experienced nothing like that before. We also enjoyed the perfect peace and quiet of the place.

During the holiday we visited local villages and cities, went to look the sea in Pescara, and tested some shopping places and the local market.

The vacation home was just okay. It had a nice layout and was well maintained, but we felt a bit isolated. Although the nearby towns were beautiful, we found it hard to find restaurants closer than 5 km. Still, it worked for a quiet family holiday.

The town of Pescara on the coast is divided into two parts by a river of the same name. The historic center of the city is located on the south bank. This is where the Piazzaforte (fortified city) once stood. The Bagno Borbonico still exists. The prison was built in 1510 by Charles V, King of the Two Sicilies. Today it houses the Museum of Abruzzo with an exhibition on the cultural history of the region. Perfect for a cultural trip full of excursions to sights and attractions not far from your holiday accommodation. The writer Gabriele D’Annunzio was born in Pescara on March 12, 1863. His birthplace in the old town houses a museum in honor of the great writer (Museo Casa Natale di Gabriele D’Annunzio). The San Cetteo Cathedral, built between 1933 and 1938, is also worth seeing. On the north bank of the river are the town hall and the government buildings.
