The older couple who rented the house were very nice and approachable. We rented the same house 12.5 years ago. It was striking that absolutely NOTHING has changed since then. Same decor, same knives, forks and spoons, same cups, same old pots and pans, plates, cups. Yes, even the soap dish in the bathroom, the rubber floor mat in that bathroom, were the same. Even the bedcases in the bedrooms were the same. The tables and chairs, the sofa, everything had remained the same. The bedding was neat and clean. It's a shame that the entire interior had not been updated in all that time. A truly missed opportunity in our opinion... The house itself had not undergone any major or minor maintenance. Also a missed opportunity in this respect. Here and there the plasterwork now showed cracks and there were damp spots in the plasterwork. However, the location of the gite is fantastic. In short, a comprehensive and major renovation and/or update of the entire house and the entire furnishings including the kitchen would give the stay much more potential. We also thought it was a pity that the view from the garden over part of the village was this time blocked by vegetation in the garden. The unique and high location of the gite and garden have unfortunately now been largely destroyed. Extremely unfortunate, really a shame... The garden set was also still the same. The oval table is nice and large, but the garden chairs turned out to be really rickety and desperately needed to be replaced. The garden set was also in a difficult spot and placing and using the garden chairs around it was more than difficult. It was a pity that the table was weighed down with items, so we could not move it and therefore use it better. The washing machine in the basement made a deafening noise and the whole thing was literally coming to an end. Even the few children's toys in the basement were the same as those from 12.5 years ago. Also the WiFi
