Chiatri Puccini, une petite localité près de Lucca, is situated on the hills overlooking the coastline of Viareggio and is surrounded by woods, olive groves and chestnut trees. Le village still preserves its ancient Tuscan characteristics with small groups of its houses built on different hill peaks. Chiatri is well known for its chestnuts and hunting for wild boar in winter, and above all for Giacomo Puccini's villa. Here, in fact, the famous composer used to spend much of his free time receiving friends, hunting in the woods and getting inspiration for his work.
