Maria Alm
Prachtig huisje, mooie locatie. Met de auto binnen 5 min in het centrum of de gondel. Lopend 10 minuten naar supermarkt en iets verder naar het centrum, wel een stijl weggetje ;-). Eigen tuintje met een trampoline. Kinderen hebben zich heel goed vermaakt. We hebben een hele fijne tijd gehad!

We were 4 people in the large apartment stays 1 and 2, in the external house next to the main building. Very comfortable beds, and a large living-kitchen. Ideal location, beautiful scenery. It just lacked that the apartment had been a single piece so we wouldn't have to go out to the landing to go to the bedroom area. The hosts only speak German, but we were able to understand each other with the Google translator without problems.

The Mountains in Summer and Winter
Summer is the best time for a sporty hiking holiday in Maria Alm. Around your affordable holiday apartment or your affordable holiday home, kilometers of hiking trails beckon. The mountain world can be explored on long-distance hiking trails, herbal hikes and mountain hiking trails. The 74-kilometer-long Königsweg (King's Way) leads you over alpine pastures and through forests, past bubbling mountain streams and steeply rising mountain walls to Mühlbach. Children love the summer toboggan run and golfers find perfect conditions on one of the most beautiful golf courses in Austria on the high plateau between Saalfelden and Maria Alm. The pilgrimage church is an idyllic destination. To this day, the church tower of Maria Alm, with its 76 meters, is one of the tallest in the Salzburg region. In the cold months, 120 kilometers of groomed slopes and 30 kilometers of cross-country ski trails await you in the vicinity of your accommodation. For sociable winter evenings, there are illuminated toboggan runs and curling lanes. Cozy winter hiking trails let you enjoy the landscape away from the slopes and trails. For little guests, Easter time is the best time. On Easter weekend, the Easter Bunny hides huge filled Easter nests along the slopes, waiting to be found. A particularly romantic holiday idea is a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the white mountain landscape. It's more thrilling with the so-called fat bikes down into the valley of the holiday region.

Specialties of the Salzburg Region
The cuisine of the Salzburg region is rooted in tradition. Typical dishes of the region include Kaspressknödel (cheese dumplings). A popular side dish is sauerkraut. As widespread as the dumplings are the Nocken (noodles). Especially in summer, the sweet variant enjoys great popularity. The Nocken are served with currants or blueberries, with pears or plums. Two four-hat restaurants of Gault Millau can be found here. Around your holiday apartment or your private holiday home in Maria Alm with the famous Breithorn view, there are also plenty of traditional inns. Where the locals eat, it can't be bad. The favorite drink of the Pinzgau region is beer. There are numerous private breweries with excellent beers. The Salzburg Beer Meat reflects the long brewing tradition: roasted beef is doused with beer and seasoned with coriander, juniper berries and caraway. Those who prefer wine will find the best wines of the country on the wine lists of the restaurants. Popular are the Grüner Veltliner, a fresh white wine for the summer evening, as well as the red Zweigelt. Stop by one of the ski huts and enjoy regional delicacies.
