Great house with garden and pool

From the request to the rental, everything went very well, thank you very much to Mrs. Pöhmerer as well. We can only agree with the previous reviews. A very nice house with plenty of space for four people, we were two and were able to enjoy the holiday extensively, the equipment is very good. In the outdoor area there is an old olive tree and the large wooden table in front of it with the seating invites you to have breakfast and eat in the evenings. We actually used the grill every day, you can get charcoal and other accessories directly from the hardware store, which is not far away.
In the side area of the house, there is a part of the garden with additional seating areas, which we often used in the evenings as well.
Although Monte Pego is a bit remote from the well-known places, it is very quiet there, but still many things can be reached within a few minutes by car. The location is also very nice for cycling, there are many tours in the area. Since we are not daily beach-goers, we also spent some time at the pool and used it more often. The outdoor shower is also very nice.

The nearby town of Dénia, with its striking Moorish castle from the 11th and 12th centuries, attracts numerous visitors every year. The beaches are clean and offer sun worshippers and water sports enthusiasts the best conditions. The locals turn night into day at many festivals throughout the year, such as the Fiestas de San Agustín en Las Rotas and Moros y Cristianos in August and September, or the Feria de todos los Santos in November. The nearby village of Els Poblets is considered one of the most beautiful (and expensive) villages along the entire coast. Golfers can reach several golf courses from Monte Pego.

Where can I eat out in Monte Pego?

Paella and beyond... and of course, the wine

A must for every Mediterranean holiday in Spain: an authentic paella. But beware: not every rice pan is a real paella, and even fewer taste good. The rich, characteristic yellow color of the ingredients, whether fish and seafood or (also a classic: rabbit), comes from the rare and expensive saffron. Charlatans behind the stove use cumin as a substitute. Ask locals you trust where to find the best paella and be prepared to travel a short distance. Alternatively, there are numerous restaurants, bars, and bistros with Spanish and international cuisine around your affordable holiday apartment or holiday home in Monte Pego. Real Mediterranean fish has unfortunately become rare, so it is also important to ask which restaurant buys from local fishermen. A liquid version of paella: the caldero. This is a rice dish made from the broth of various seafood and small fish. And another variant, this time based on noodles: the fideu. Although the Spanish also like to drink beer, the perfect accompaniment to these delicacies is a wine from the region. The Denominaciónes de Origen (Controlled Origin Areas) València and Alacant are in the immediate vicinity and produce excellent wines. Our tip: In Dénia, the Spanish top chef Quique Dacosta serves gourmet guests from all over the world in his eponymous restaurant. It is one of the few restaurants in the country with three Michelin stars.

How do I come to Monte Pego?

Reach the Costa Blanca in just a few hours

The tranquil Urbanisatión Monte Pego is located just a few kilometers inland from Dénia on the Costa Blanca, right "opposite" the holiday island Ibiza (visible from Montgó on clear days). The journey to your holiday apartment or private holiday home in Monte Pego is quick and convenient via the airport of Valencia. From almost all major airports in Germany, you can reach Valencia all year round in about two hours of flight time. Car rental agencies are available at the terminal. Especially during the off-season, you can get the best prices by booking in advance online. From the airport, it is about an hour and a half drive along the Costa Blanca to your private villa in Monte Pego. Traveling by car takes about 19 hours. A stopover on the French Mediterranean coast is recommended.
