Fantastically beautiful and exclusive holiday home under thatch with garden, wood-burning stove and sauna on the Baltic Sea coast

This holiday home offers enough space for up to ten people and an additional small child on a living area of approx. 150 m². The house is ideal for families with children, generation holidays, holidays with friends, but also for couples looking for peace and quiet. The high-quality and stylish furnishings will make your holiday an unforgettable experience. The holiday home (completion 11/2015) is located in the Ostseeferienpark Rerik, which consists of new holiday home buildings.

You open the entrance door with your individual access code to the outside, so you can easily get into the house. On the ground floor there is a large living/dining room with a cosy leather seating area, wood-burning stove and a large dining table for ten people, as well as a high-quality and fully equipped fitted kitchen. In addition, there is a large shower room with sauna. When you're not on the move, you can enjoy a good film on DVD from the living area. If you prefer music, there is a stereo system with radio/CD as well as iPod and USB connection. Or you can relax in front of the stove and listen to the crackling of the fireplace. So that you can also indulge in your culinary hobby while on holiday, there is a modern, fully equipped and spacious eat-in kitchen at your disposal. It offers you a large refrigerator with ice compartment, induction hob, extractor bonnet, raised oven, dishwasher, microwave, etc.. In addition, a washing machine is at your free disposal. A high chair is available for your toddler. The modern bathroom consists of a sauna, floor-level shower, toilet and washbasin. After your sauna session, you can get out into the fresh Baltic Sea air via a double door. There is a hairdryer for your wet hair. A fly screen door protects you from unwelcome visitors.

The upper floor offers the possibility to retreat and enjoy a good night's sleep or even a nice afternoon nap. All beds have adjustable slatted frames and are comfortably high. Your night's rest is important to us, which is why we have chosen high-quality mattresses. Blackout is provided in every bedroom. You will also find a beautiful wellness bathroom to relax in with a bathtub, floor-level shower, toilet, hand basin and hairdryer. So that you don't get any unwelcome visitors, each room has a fly screen. On this level you will find three bedrooms, each with a double bed (180 x 200 cm), night consoles, wardrobe and a safe for your valuables in one of the bedrooms. If you are travelling with a small child, we will be happy to provide you with an additional travel cot free of charge

The converted attic is the ideal domicile for your children. There are two sleeping areas. The bunk bed room with two beds (90x200 cm), desk and wardrobe as well as the chillout lounge equipped with a high-quality sheep sofa (consisting of two mattresses 90x200 cm) in comfort height, bedside tables, wardrobe, sideboard and a bedside table

You can park right next to the house in Spitze with four cars. If you have brought your own bicycles or borrowed bicycles, you can store them in a lockable bicycle shed. The outdoor facilities are fenced in with a wire mesh fence or a natural stone wall. From the living/dining room you can access the large terrace. The large garden table with space for ten people invites you to a sociable barbecue evening (an electric barbecue is available in the bike shed). Charcoal and open fires as well as fireworks are not permitted due to the fire hazard of the thatched roofs. Furthermore, this is a non-smoking house.

For allergy sufferers, the ground floor and the upper floor are completely tiled, the attic is covered with vinyl. A children's table with two stools is available for small children. Children's crockery and cutlery are also included in the inventory. Dogs are welcome, but home textiles, couch and all beds are taboo.

The coastal forest above the cliff provides shade in summer and in the evening you have the opportunity to enjoy the sunset over the sea on numerous benches.

Top accommodation with faux pas

I always had friendly phone calls with Mr. Metten. He was very service oriented. Unfortunately, things took a turn when we discovered the following damages on the day of arrival and notified them by phone the next day: The refrigerator did not cool, only the freezer compartment worked. The temperature control knob on the sauna was broken (the electrician later confirmed that the knob was broken in two places. It could still be used, but it always fell out when adjusting), and the flush button in the bathroom on the ground floor sometimes didn't work or it worked and the water ran continuously.
When we informed Mr. Metten about this, he kept repeating that this couldn't be. He said that we were the first ones to report such a number of damages. I replied that I was only passing on an inventory and informing him because I consider the accommodation highly recommendable.
He replied that I was afraid of losing my security deposit and transferred it back to me. In the end, he offered that I could leave again for a refund.
We found this behavior very perplexing and concluded that we were the first ones to report existing damages to the landlord. Apparently, he didn't want to be informed that past visitors did not report their damages.
We used the cool weather to keep our food fresh. Mr. Metten didn't even offer a price reduction for the fact that we couldn't use the refrigerator for 5 days. Due to the beginning communication problems with Mr. Metten, we declined the caretaker's offer to receive a replacement device.
Conclusion: The accommodation is very nice, but you should not report any damages.

Sehr geehrte Familie S aus Haste, ich kann betätigen, das wir im Vorfeld stets freundliche Telefonate hatten. Selbst als am Samstag vor der Anreise mitgeteilt wurde, das noch 2-4 Personen mehr kommen. Ich habe lediglich darauf hingewiesen, dass es nur 10 Betten und ein Kinderbett gibt. Mit wieviel Personen die Familie S angereist ist, können wir nun nicht sagen. Ich habe stets Verständnis gezeigt und war um das Wohlergehen meiner Gäste besorgt.
Dann kam am Anreisetag der Anruf, wie die Sauna funktioniert. Ich habe das erklärt. Am nächsten Tag kam der nächste Anruf mit den Mängelbeschreibungen. Anfangen vom Kühlschrank, über das Drehrad an der Sauna, den Spültaster an Toilette, bis hin zu 3 defekten Leuchtmitteln an 3 Lampen.
Ich habe mit auch bedankt, für die Meldung dieser Mängel, weil es für uns als Vermieter immer ein großes Problem ist, wenn dieses nicht gemacht wird. Denn nicht alles lässt sich vom Putzteam bei einem kurzen Wechsel überprüfen und erst recht nicht beseitigen.
Es mag sein, dass meine Fassungslosigkeit über die Schäden in diesem Umfang für Herr S so geklungen hat, als würde ich ihm nicht glauben, ich wollte damit aber zu keinem Zeitpunkt Herrn S die Schuld an den Beschädigungen geben, sondern ihm zu verstehen geben, wie die Situation für uns ist.
Wir versprachen schnellstmöglich Abhilfe zu schaffen.

Dann kam die Äußerung, dass Herr S es nicht akzeptieren wird, dass ich die Schäden von der Kaution abziehen werde. Ich habe erläutert, dass ich nicht daran interessiert bin, Mängel über die Kaution abzurechnen sondern zufriedene Gäste zu haben.

Zutiefst verletzt hat mich die Aussage, ich würde unprofessionell handeln.

Zu seiner Beruhigung habe ich Herrn S seine geleistete Kaution sofort zurück überwiesen.
Im angeboten in eins unserer anderen Häuser (fußläufig in unmittelbarer Nähe) umzuziehen
und falls ihm dies alles nicht gefällt, gegen Rückerstattung abzureisen.

Wir verblieben so, dass ich den Hausmeister schicke um sich die Mängel anzuschauen und zu reparieren, was sofort machbar wäre.
Am gleichen Tag kam dann auch noch der Elektriker und hat angeboten einen Ersatzkühlschrank aufzustellen. Das wurde abgelehnt.
Am nächsten Tag kam das Sanitärunternehmen und hat den Drucker an der Toiletten repariert. Der Saunaknopf ist bestellt und wird ausgetauscht. Aber die Funktion war nicht eingeschränkt. Das bestätigten auch die Handwerker und die nachfolgenden Gäste

Also wir haben alles unternommen um die Situation entsprechend zu bereinigen, aber da muss der Gast auch mitspielen. Ich habe während des Aufenthaltes immer wieder versucht, Kontakt per Telefon aufzunehmen. Leider hat Herr S die Kommunikation abgebrochen, ich habe über Whatsapp weiter informiert.

Wir sind sehr daran interessiert, Mängel genannt zu bekommen, damit wir diese beseitigen können. Leider ist hier in der Kommunikation wohl einiges schief gelaufen.
Wir sind alle nur Menschen.
