Capitorio faces west and offers great views over the Albegna valley. Capitorio's high ceilings, chestnut beams, terracota tiles and fireplace offer a cosy comfortable space to unwind and recharge you batteries. The bedroom has a double bed and a fold down single. The living room/kitchen corner has a fold down double sofa bed. The bathroom has a walk in shower, toilet facilities and a hairdryer. The kitchen corner comes with traditional Tuscan fittings and is fully equipped with utensils and crockery. There's a fold down double sofa bed in the livingroom. A high chair and cot are available.
Fast (6MB) free wifi internet access is available throughout the accommodation. For a small fee guests have access to a washing machine. Podere Sant'Angelo is located 3km along a well-maintained unmade road. The English owner lives on-site and is available for help and advice.

Delicious traditional food, fantastic wines, beautiful scenery, long hot summer days. Hill top villages, medieval churches with Renaissance frescoes and ceramics ........ uncrowded beaches with beautiful clear sea ..... all the clichés about Tuscany are here and they are all true - especially here in the Maremma, the southern untouched part of the region. South of Siena, Maremma stretches to the border with Lazio. This is a land of Etruscan remains, rolling hills, unspoilt medieval villages with a pace of life that takes you back back 50 years if not more.
The picturesque village of Roccalbegna is a ten minute drive away. It's a 30 minute drive to the hot springs at Saturnia. The Etruscan remains of Sovana and Pitigliano are 30 minutes away. The beaches of Castiglione della Pescaia and Marina di Grosseto are a 75minute drive away. day trips to Siena, Florence and Rome are possible.

A home in Tuscany
During our second stay in Podere Sant'Angelo, we stayed this time in the flat "Capitorio". It is as well equipped as "Albegna" and also offers a wonderful view of the valley from the terrace as well as absolute peace and quiet, apart from sheep and crickets. You could relax undisturbed for days on the spacious, lovingly planted property. If you like winding and mountainous country roads like I do, you will also have fun driving to the destinations in the area. Nature lovers will find many worthwhile destinations, and those who appreciate art or historical buildings will discover many interesting places within an hour or two's drive. The nearest Roccalbegna seems like something from another era because, despite its population of only 300, it has two grocery shops, a butcher, a pharmacy and a bank, and the inhabitants actually fill the place with life. For everything you need and plan, Graham is a great support as an attentive host with lots of ideas. His special tip was two concerts at the Amiata Piano Festival, an extraordinary concert hall in the middle of the mountains with outstanding classical music artists. Podere Sant'Angelo is like a little home in an exciting environment. We will definitely be back!

Idyllic Tuscan escape
My partner and I went for our summer holidays. Our villa was so beautiful and comfortable. We cooked lots of delicious meals in the kitchen with fresh produce from the nearby supermarket - in Tuscany, even the supermarkets sell the most gorgeous tomatoes, aubergines and potatoes - so flavoursome! There was wifi connection at the villa but it still felt far away from the stress of life. We had an idyllic time painting and writing in the garden and slept so well in the huge bed. Our host, Graham, was kind and friendly and so accommodating. Would definitely recommend this place for a sublime, rustic escape!

Tuscany pure: These two words describe the essence of Tuscany.
Right in the middle of it instead of just being involved is the feeling when arriving at this place. Fantastic view, short distances to many sights in the area and a landlord who takes care of the guests and the terrain with heart. This is the perfect place to relax!

Just for relaxation
The accommodation is very remote, but highly recommended for romantics and those seeking relaxation. Graham is a very pleasant host and always available for a nice conversation. Thanks to his valuable tips, you can also explore secret corners of southern Tuscany.

Erholung und Genuss
Welch ein wunderbarer Ort zum Erholen, der Natur lauschen, lange Wanderungen unternehmen, gut essen und trinken, in die Sterne schauen.... und dann tief schlafen:-)! Besonders, wenn man aus einer Großstadt kommt - wie wir - erscheint diese Adresse als geradezu paradiesisch. Ringsherum nur Natur und Ruhe - bis auf den Gesang der Nachtigallen und einem "Mäh" der Schafe ab und zu.
Den Standort gefiel uns gut: man kann vom Haus aus sofort loswandern oder natürlich viele Ausflüge per Auto machen, in eine wunderbare Umgebung (schöne, alte Dörfer und Städtchen, heiße Quellen, phantastische Kunst-Gärten, Berge, Meer mit schönen Stränden...) Wir haben alles sehr genossen, manchmal auch einfach nur den Blick von der Terrasse aus übers Tal... gern bei Sonnenuntergang.
Auch die Wohnung hat uns sehr zugesagt. Sie ist sehr geschmackvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet und die Küche wirklich mit allem ausgestattet, was nötig ist zum lecker Kochen und Essen.
Und wenn wir mal eine Frage hatten, war der äußerst freundliche und zugleich diskrete Vermieter immer erreichbar und hatte viele gute Tipps für uns.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft in der Toskana
Wir waren eine Woche in Podere Sant'Angelo in der Wohnung Capitorio. In der Unterkunft haben wir uns auf Anhieb sehr wohl gefühlt. Graham (Vermieter) hat uns wunderbare uns sehr hilfreiche Tipps hinsichtlich Restaurants und Sehenswürdigkeiten gegeben. Das Grundstücl liegt abseits großer Straßen, was uns sehr gefallen hat. Von der Terasse hat man einen schönen Blick in die umgebende Landschaft der Maremma.
Alles in allem empfehlen wir die Unterkunft auf jeden Fall weiter und kommen sehr gerne auch selbst nochmal wieder.

Vier Tage im Paradies
Ich bin neulich 4 Tagen bei dem liebvollen Gastgeber, Graham am Podere Sant'Angelo gewesen. Ich wollte weg vom Chaos um ein Paar Tage Ruhe zu geniessen und der Aufenthalt in der Toskana hat alle meiner Erwartungen völlig erfüllt. Die Gegend is schon, grün und ruhig mit reizendvollen kleinstäten auf den Hügeln und eine schöne Küste wo man baden oder segeln kann gibt es auch.
Graham war sehr hilfreich und hat viele nützliche Auskunfte zu erweitern. Wenn man eine ruhige Stelle um ein Glas guter Wein auf eine schönen Terassen mit wonderbarem Ausblick sucht kann ich Podere Sant'Angelo sehr empfehlen.

Erholung in wunderschöner Landschaft
Wir hatten einen sehr angenehmen, ruhigen Aufenthalt im "Capitorio" und wurden von Graham bestens betreut. Das Grundstück ist harmonisch gestaltet, sehr geplegt und lädt zum Wohlfühlen ein. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der Ausblick von der Terrasse auf das Tal. Die Wohnung ist schlicht und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, die Küche bietet alles, was wir für die Zubereitung kleinerer Mahlzeiten benötigt haben. Die Betten sind ausgesprochen gut, dank Mückennetzen an den Fenstern kann das Schlafzimmer sehr gut belüftet werden. Auch das Bad ist sauber und sehr zweckmäßig gestaltet. Alle Geräte funktionierten einwandfrei.
Alles in allem eine empfehlenswerte Adresse in einer landschaftlich und kulturell reizvollen Umgebung. Ganz herzlichen Dank an den sympathischen Hausherrn Graham!

sehr empfehlenswert
Das Ferienhaus liegt abgeschieden auf einem Hügel mit wunderbarer Sicht von der Terrasse. Es ist zweckmäßig und geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Das große Grundstück ist ein Traum. Der Vermieter Graham ist sehr nett und zuvor kommend und hat viele Tipps zu den Highlights der Region. Für die die es nicht missen wollen: Trotz der abgelegenen Lage war der Zugriff auf das Internet per WLAN schnell und zuverlässig.
Für alle die es ruhig und viel Natur haben wollen (nur die Tiere sind zu hören) ist es ideal. Ein Auto um hinzukommen ist allerdings Pflicht.
Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

Absoluter Geheimtipp!
Die Ferienwohnung liegt fernab jeder Hektik. Die Ausstattung ist perfekt. Das grosse Areal ist sehr liebevoll angelegt und man hat einen wunderbaren Blick auf die bergige toskanische Landschaft. Nach Roccalbegna braucht man mit dem Auto 15 Minuten. Wir sprechen zwar nicht italienisch, doch wir wurden in den kleinen, sehr sympatischen Laeden sehr freundlich bedient. Das gastronomische Angebot ist gar nicht auf Tourismus ausgelegt und trotzdem oder gerade deshalb sehr gut. Graham, der Vermieter, ist ein Englaender, der sehr gut deutsch spricht. Er ist sehr hilfsbereit und hat jede Menge Tipps, was man unternehmen kann. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefuehlt und kommen bestimmt wieder!

I grew up in the northwest of England. After studying in Scotland I left the UK and have lived and worked in many different countries. Now more than ten years I enjoy life here on Podere Sant'Angelo. It gefält my experience the Maremma, nice places to visit and where you can eat well, communicate with my clients. The great view from Podere Sant'Angelo make this a really special place. Since the look is down to the sea at Porto Santo Stefano, in the other direction there is the oddly shaped Monte Labbro, front of the house there are wonderful sunsets. The black night sky with the Milky Way, which extends over the house is still a wonder to behold. After the enjoyment of urban life in several of the largest cities in the world (including Hamburg) I guess now the close contact with nature, offering life on Podere Sant'Angelo.
