Description
Our thatched house is located directly behind the Elbe dike in a residential street. We live with 2 people on the upper floor. There are 2 flats on the ground floor, which are rented out as holiday flats.
The flat offered here is on the left side of the house. The separate access to this flat is through the winter garden. The flat is fully furnished and equipped with all utensils necessary for a holiday. Linen for bed, bathroom and kitchen is available and will be changed on request - depending on the length of your stay. There is a landline telephone with its own number. The use for calls to the German fixed network is included in the rental price. On request, you will receive WLAN access.

Next to the conservatory is your own terrace with table and chairs. The garden is also at your disposal. There you will find rustic garden furniture under trees or places in the sun for the deck chair.
The garden borders on the Elbe dike. Through a gate you can get directly onto the dike with sheep and lambs. For "ship watching" there are light chairs that you can take with you onto the dyke. From here you can also get to the beach, the small harbour, the restaurant or the snack stands or "beach club" (only in summer) without having to cross a road. The "pirate playground" under tall trees for the children, the bathing area and the "Dampferbrücke Kollmar" are also just a few minutes away.

Location and surroundings of object
The holiday flat is located in a traditional thatched house with a spacious garden directly behind the Elbe dyke
Access is via a residential road (speed limit 30 km/h). Long-distance cycle paths and the local cycle path network lead directly past the property. The restaurant, café, ice cream parlour, "beach club", snack bar and shop are 5 - 15 minutes away. See also our website: fewo-kollmar
The nearest larger towns are Glückstadt (approx. 9 km) and Elmshorn (approx. 12 km). You can reach Hamburg city centre by train from Elmshorn in about 20 - 25 minutes - or by car via the A23/A7. The district town of Itzehoe is approx. 35 km away. The Kiel Canal (Brunsbüttel locks) is about 30 km away. Kollmar is situated on the banks of the Elbe between Elmshorn and Glückstadt, a spacious marshland village, particularly splendid at the time of the rape blossom in May. Here you can already feel the North Sea: maritime landscape on the wide Elbe river with islands, mudflats and beaches, low tide and high tide, fresh wind and intense light. Every ship - container giant, cruiser, sailing yacht, motorboat, freighter, tanker, etc. - passes here on its way to/from Hamburg. The Elbe is about 3 km wide here. There are islands, beaches, mudflats and natural tributaries of the Elbe with rich plant and animal life.
There are numerous marked paths for cycling tours. The Elbe Cycle Path and the North Sea Coast Cycle Path pass by here. The beaches invite you to sunbathe. Swimming in the river is a special experience - but depends on the tide. We already have a tidal range of about 3.00 metres here - i.e. the difference between normal high tide and low tide is about 3 metres.
You can shop in farm shops in the village and the surrounding area. Here you can get apples and other local fruit, eggs, poultry, milk, lamb, beef, pork, vegetables, etc. directly from the producers.
Historic Glückstadt and Elmshorn are 9 and 12 km away respectively. Here you will find a wide range of cultural activities, all shopping facilities and rail connections to Hamburg (HamburgerVerkehrsVerbund HVV), Kiel (Baltic Sea) and Sylt (North Sea) - with the Schleswig-Holstein ticket.

We spent 10 very relaxed, quiet and restful days with Mrs. Voss. The flat is cosy, the garden beautiful and the location just perfect. Thank you very much for a wonderful time!

Perfect location for a beautiful holiday
We were enchanted by the Fewo frische Brise. Very quietly located directly behind the dyke. The harbour of Kollmar is only a few steps away.
Ideal for watching ships, sheep and cycling. The flat is modern and very cosy. You can sit and relax in the conservatory. Mrs. Voss welcomed us very nicely and gave us tips for excursions in the area. We will be happy to come back.

My husband and I have prepared this beautiful thatched-roof property in Kollmar. We enjoy the peace and quiet, the beautiful landscape, the water, the beaches and the international shipping traffic on the Elbe. Every container giant, cruise ship, cargo ship, tanker, etc. going to or coming from Hamburg has to pass by here. From the dike bank we have a magnificent view of the Elbe - also a very popular sailing area. Come and relax here.
