The holiday home "Am Schiefen Turm" is the ideal place to stay for you.
The old cottage has been dormant for a long time. Visually, it does not want to be inferior to the nearby Leaning Tower and is therefore a little crooked itself. Now the house has been completely renovated and refurnished. It is available for your stay in Bad Frankenhausen and the Kyffhäuser region
The holiday home is spread over two floors. On the ground floor you will find the bedroom with double bed and the bathroom with shower, washbasin and WC. You can reach the sheltered courtyard area via the rear exit.
The spacious living, dining and cooking area extends over the entire upper floor. The kitchen is equipped with modern electrical appliances, including a dishwasher. Eating is done in the cosy dining area.
The living area has an electric fireplace. The comfortable corner couch can be used as an additional sleeping accommodation if required
From the upper floor you have direct access to the garden terrace and the landscaped south-facing plot, which is at the guests' disposal. Here you can enjoy the beautiful weather, read a good book or simply relax. And of course there is the possibility to grill the famous Thuringian grilled sausages here.

Location and surroundings of object
The holiday home is located - as the name suggests - directly at the most famous landmark of the city, the Leaning Tower.
From here you can walk directly into nature and after a short walk you will reach the Hausmannsturm and a little later also the Panorama Museum. You will already enjoy the way there, over meadows and through forests.
In the direction of the town, you walk for 5 minutes through the spa park and reach the Anger or the market square - i.e. the centre of the town. The Kyffhäusertherme is also within easy walking distance. Directly within sight of the holiday home you will find a miniature golf course, a show salt boiling house, the source of the brine springs and the brine water vitality park. Bad Frankenhausen, the 1000-year-old salt town on the southern slope of the Kyffhäuser Mountains, impresses with numerous sights, including the leaning upper church, the Hausmannsturm from the 13th century and the monumental painting of the Peasants' Battle in the Panorama Museum
The famous Kyffhäuser Monument is in the immediate vicinity. Also just a few kilometres from Bad Frankenhausen, Europe's only show cave in anhydrite rock is definitely worth a visit - the Barbarossa Cave.
The landscape and nature of the Kyffhäuser Mountains invite visitors to the region to go hiking or cycling. There is plenty to discover here.
As a spa town, Bad Frankenhausen also offers many opportunities to do something for your health. At the Kyffhäusertherme spa, you can bathe in the brine from the town's salt springs or relax with massages and various sauna sessions and gather strength for everyday life.

With today's knowledge, the tower can only be saved in the long term by a suitable supporting structure that transfers parts of the building load to the nearby areas with rocky subsoil. Additional compensation of the karstified subsoil can increase the effectiveness of this measure.
The town of Bad Frankenhausen purchased the Oberkirchturm from the previous owner for the symbolic purchase price of one euro. This prevented the dismantling of the tower, which had already been decided by the Protestant Church of Thuringia, in time.
After years of unsuccessful struggle for support from the Thuringian state government, it was announced in mid-November 2014 that the town of Bad Frankenhausen would receive funding from the federal programme "National Projects of Urban Development", which was relaunched in 2014, for the preservation of the Oberkirchturm. The federal government has thus classified the tower as an architectural monument with special national visibility, urban development qualities and above-average quality.
The construction of the supporting structure to save the tower has been completed in the meantime. Now the masonry, which has been attacked by the weather, will be renovated and then the tower can continue to fascinate its visitors for many years to come.

Very sophisticated holiday home
We had only booked 2 nights and would have loved to stay longer. Finally, a holiday home that you will remember with pleasure and come back to. Everything is modern, perfect and tastefully furnished with great attention to detail. We were particularly impressed by the large bathroom. Sufficient and very nice crockery was available, so you didn't have to wash up or use the dishwasher after every meal. It is highly recommended and we will definitely book it again the next time we are in Bad Frankenhausen.

Trip to the Kyffhäuser
We liked the holiday home Am schiefen Turm very much:
Good sleeping, living and parking. Everything was very clean and well equipped.
For excursions we took the call bus. The bus came on time and the drivers were as nice and courteous as you could wish for on holiday, at moderate prices!
We will gladly come back to the house at the leaning tower.

Highly recommended holiday home
The furnishings are comfortable, very lovingly furnished down to the last detail and super clean. The house is centrally located. The old town with its restaurants, the spa gardens, the thermal baths and shops for daily needs are only a few minutes' walk away. We liked it very much!

New Year's Eve in Bad Frankenhausen.
We spent the Christmas holidays and New Year's Eve in the holiday home at the Leaning Tower and were completely satisfied. Here you will find everything you need for a relaxed stay and some distance from everyday life. The equipment of the holiday home is very modern. The fireplace provides cozy hours. The location of the house is perfect because you can reach everything on foot. You are quickly in the city, but the many hiking trails also invite you to explore the surrounding area.
We can recommend the accommodation without reservation and would love to come back!
