In the commune of Chaspinhac, Département de La Haute Loire (43), is Brestilhac, a small, original picturesque pile village consisting of 18 partly inhabited houses in 810 meters with a unique view, 7 km away Le Puy-en- Velay and the volcanic landscape of the Auvergne. In the middle of Brestilhac, the freestanding granite house was renovated in 2003 with much love and expanded the barn with over 125 square meters to a 2-storey holiday home. On the ground floor of the apartment is a spacious entrance hall, kitchen, pantry, bathroom and toilet. In the 1st floor: living (with fold-out sofa bed, TV, DVD, radio, cassette and CD player) and dining room, 2 bedrooms (1 queen-size bed, 2 single beds, 1 baby / toddler bed), bathroom, toilet. Electric heating, fenced garden with terrace, car parking space, garden furniture and barbecue.
Paragliding, rock climbing and golf: paragliding and climbing, take part with the possibility of courses and mountain biking on site. Within 25 km there are the golf courses: Ceyssac 9 holes; Chambon sur Lignon 18 holes; Lantiac 14 holes.
Fishing, canoeing and swimming: fishing and canoeing in the Loire, 7 km away, and bathing in the Loire and the volcanic lakes of the area is possible.
Walks on foot, on horseback and by bicycle: Endless possibilities for hiking and walking locally.

As a Falkenhorst Brestilhac embeds itself on a granite hill, high above the beginnings of the Loire Valley with unique view of Le-Puy-en-Velay in the heart of the Auvergne, the largest extinct volcano landscape in Europe. Time seems to stand still. In re-made-up oven the community bake 'Brestilhacois' their own bread. 1 times a week the trader comes with the season-fruits of the area. Only 13km by car are to Le-Puy-en-Velay, the starting point of the pilgrimage. The medieval town with its famous cathedral and the black Madonna will pull you in its spell. The surrounding towns invite Romanesque architecture to discover. French nativeness and a French 'home-style' kitchen with the-present everywhere green AOC-lentils of the region welcome you here. Walk on the road of the castles of the Auvergne, on the road of Lafayette, on the Camino. Lose yourself in a unique landscape.

We used the holiday home for a short stopover on our trip through France. The booking and communication with the owner was very uncomplicated and very accommodating. Everything was made possible so that we could move into the house at our desired time. We were given good directions and suggestions for things to do in the area. The house is very quiet. It is absolutely relaxing. It is well and lovingly equipped with everything and nothing stands in the way of a longer stay. The bright living room and the terrace are especially nice. We can highly recommend a stay here.

Pure nature and tranquillity
In the run-up to our booking, the landlady gave us very kind and detailed advice. On site, we found everything as described. The house is very well maintained, spacious and in top condition. With summer temperatures during the day, we were able to take wonderful walks in the unique volcanic landscape of the Auvergne or just relax on the beautiful sun terrace and enjoy the pure air and peace. At Easter it became a bit more crowded in this tiny hamlet; half of the houses are used exclusively as weekend homes or holiday residences. Le Puy-en-Velay is 25 minutes away by car. The medieval town has a lot of charm and especially the weekly market on Saturday is recommended for a stroll!
We enjoyed our holiday very much and can only recommend the house and the place!

Breathe and relax
After a tiring drive through South-East France, I chose the gîte "Au Bout du Monde" to relax for three days. After often quite run-down French accommodations with old, worn-out seating and lying opportunities and tin cutlery, the gîte "Au Bout Du Monde" was the perfect place to catch my breath and relax. The gîte is fully equipped and in impeccable condition. The owners kindly even left me some laundry detergent to use the washing machine. At this time of year, I could also enjoy the afternoon sun on the large terrace. - At the end of the world - In the middle of France - a wonderful place to rest!

Cuckoo and hoopoe
We had a very nice vacation in Brestilhac. The rose bush on the terrace was in full bloom when we arrived, the meadows were colorful as in Germany unfortunately no longer, the broom shone golden and the cuckoo and hoopoe called every morning. Now we have to get used to everyday life again.
