Texel is not only the largest, but also the most versatile island in the Dutch Wadden Sea.
The village of De Cocksdorp is close to the holiday park "De Krim". There are many restaurants where you can enjoy culinary delights.
De Cocksdorp was founded in 1835 by an Antwerp shipowner de Cock, who together with some gentlemen had established the "Society of Eierland". The village is situated along the Roggesloot, an old stream that used to have an open connection with the Wadden Sea.
In the months of July and August, De Cocksdorp hosts ring-stealing competitions and every Thursday there is the 'Durper Market'. During the holiday season, you can take a ride on the authentic Texel horse-drawn tram. On this ride, the coachman will tell you all about the origins of De Cocksdorp and the surrounding area. The Waddenkerk in De Cocksdorp is regularly open to visitors.
De Cocksdorp has grown steadily and especially the last 25 years due to the growth of tourist traffic. The growth of the bungalow park "De Krim" and the nature area nearby has also attracted many tourists. After "De Koog", De Cocksdorp is now the second largest holiday resort on Texel
Near De Cocksdorp, a boat sails to the island of Vlieland during the season. Don't miss the beautiful nature reserve "De Slufter"
For golf lovers, the golf course "De Texelse" is located next to the park. The island of Texel offers beautiful scenery for everyone and many opportunities for recreation, such as cycling, hiking and horseback riding, as well as skydiving, surfing, canoeing and catamaran sailing

A beautiful holiday island with sandy beaches at the North Sea and a magnificent nature. Texel is a holiday island where there is plenty to do for young and old. Cyclists and hikers have excellent means of transport on Texel. Around 100 km of cycle paths and 300 paved paths take you over old dikes, through woods and dunes. In the north, the fish always bite. Fishing on the beach or from a boat is a pleasure for everyone and catamaran sailors will find excellent opportunities to enjoy their hobby at De Cocksdorp. There are many restaurants on Texel
