Large natural plot of 2500 m2, with a distance of 2500 metres to the merchant, 3300 metres restaurant and coast, 800 metres fishing possibility The island of Rømø lies directly north of Sylt in the Wadden Sea and can be reached by car from Skaerbaek via a 10 km causeway. The west coast of Rømø is one huge beach - the widest in northern Europe - and therefore mostly accessible by car. The villages are on the east side, but the distances to the beach are short due to the small size of the island. The Toftum holiday home area lies in the north of the island, embedded in hilly heath areas. The holiday homes and flats are spread out in the beautiful landscape and can be reached via gravel roads. Shopping facilities are available in Kongsmark, about 4 km away, and in the large shopping centre in Lakolk, the only village on Rømø's west side. North of Toftum there is a horse pension and a fishing lake, in Kongsmark an interesting nature centre. In and near Havneby, the harbour town in the south of Rømø, there are various recreational facilities such as an amusement park with an adventure pool, a riding school, a golf course, a large wellness centre, a provider of kayak tours and a surf centre with kite buggy rental, etc. From Havneby you can also take the ferry to Sylt. The nearest larger town is Skaerbaek on the mainland, about 16 km from Toftum

Beaches
The 15 km long Lakolk Strand is about 5 km from Toftum and stretches from Juvre Strand in the north to Sønderstrand in the south. You can drive to the water's edge in several places - but preferably at Lakolk. The child-friendly, fine and completely stone-free sandy beach has shallow water, sandy bottom, dunes and a blue flag (award for cleanliness). Petanque, kite surfing, hang gliding, horse riding and windsurfing are very popular there. Due to high and low tide, the water level changes markedly twice a day. Therefore, do not park your car too close to the water.
Activities
Hike through the beautiful nature on the many paths and trails near Toftum.
And anglers can look forward to a good catch at 'Rømø Lystfiskerparadis' in Juvre. This beautiful fishing lake is also accessible with wheelchairs and prams (1 km).
You may also have the opportunity to participate in the kite festival, which always takes place on the first weekend in September. You can admire countless kites in all shapes and colours.
If you like action, you can challenge each other on the 920-metre go-kart track at the Skærbæk Gokart Centre and experience speed and excitement, while water rats can enjoy the indoor swimming pool at the Skærbæk Fritidscenter with its water slide, diving boards, warm water pool and sauna (16 km).
If you are a golfer, you can play golf at the following clubs: Arrild Golf Club (30 km), Ribe Golf Klub (36 km) and Toftlund Golf Club (37 km).
