In 2013, owners, Jan van der Zwet and Marieke Smit, decided to build a guest accommodation for 4 persons on their estate. This cozy residence is located next to a large holidaay home for 10 persons. You will find everything you are looking for during your stay. The view over the countryside is beautiful and different in every season due to the bulb farming. During spring, you have a magnificent view over the flower fields.
The guest accommodation is situated just outside the small village De Zilk in the municipality of Noordwijkerhout. The pleasantly wide beach of Langevelderslag, Noordwijk, is only 5 minutes away by car, the stretched out dunes and the nature of the Amsterdam waterleidingduinen are practically in your backyard and within walking distance. Leiden and Haarlem are accessible within 20 minutes and large cities such as Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague can be reached within 30-40 minutes. It is possible to rent bikes. Please mail us if you want to visit us with a wheelchair.
After a (beach) walk you can enjoy the warm fireplace with a glass of wine or during summer at the sunny terrace with an outdoor fireplace.

Location and surroundings of object
You’ll stay in the rural area and your view stretches over the fields and the bulb fields, however, you are also near to the nature reserve of the Water Supply Dines and of course you’ll be at the beach in the blink of an eye. You’ll find the nearest shops in De Zilk (supermarket, bakery) and Noordwijkerhout, Hillegom and Lisse. The world famous flower exhibit De Keukenhof is located at a five minute distance and is an absolute ‘must’ in the spring. Noordwijk is located just a few kilometers away, but interesting cities such as Leiden, Haarlem, and The Hague are easily accessible. You’ll find Schiphol Airport at a 30 minute distance by car.
The area
Our holiday home, Ruigenhoek, is located in the heart of the Bollenstreek (area in Holland that feature the cultivation of flower bulbs), near the seaside resorts Noordwijk and Zandvoort. You can go out there to get a breath of fresh air on the Langevelderslag or the Noordwijk beach or you can go walking, cycling, or horse riding through the vast dunes and forests. In springtime, the beautiful colours of tulips, daffodils and hyacinths brighten up the entire area.
People who are looking for some peace and quiet are only a 10 minute’s walk away from the Amsterdam Waterleidingduinen (Amsterdam dunes) (about 3,400 ha). This vast dune area will lead you to Langevelderslag beach (in one hour’s walk) or even to Zandvoort (in a two hour’s walk). The Kagerplassen (the Kaag Lakes) near Warmond are also definitely worth visiting if you just want to relax and enjoy a quiet afternoon. You can also sail to Leiden.
Are you more interested in visiting some cities? Historic Haarlem, college town Leiden and the cultural capital Amsterdam, as well as The Hague and are only a stone’s throw away from your holiday home. These cities are also a haven if you enjoy shopping during your vacation.
In spring and summer you can take a nice walk on the Noordwijk Boulevard with its many restaurants and trendy beach clubs or enjoy the exciting night life of Noordwijk aan Zee. The fall and winter period is perfectly suitable for a walk on the beach at the Langevelderslag. Treat yourself to a delicious cup of cappuccino at Beach club Nederzandt and relax in your own sauna (the large holiday home) or by the outdoor woodstove.

About us
We would like to introduce ourselves to you. Since 2006, we, Marieke Smit and Jan van der Zwet, are the owners of holiday park Ruigenhoek. Marieke was born here and her parents have lived here for over 50 years. In 2007, the farm was completely modernized into the 10 person accommodation it is today.
On the estate we built a new house for ourselves and decided to rent the m2 holiday accommodation at farm “De Ruigenhoek”. Very old maps of waterways describe the farm and its estate by the name “Bethlehem”.
July 2013, we will complement our accommodation with a 4 person guest accommodation on the ground floor. From that date on you will be able to rent a holiday accommodation for 4, 10 or 14 persons.
We have another other passion in Noordwijk. Since 1980, Jan owns a paramedical centre “De Praktijk” in the Kerkstraat in Noordwijk. This centre has various areas of expertise, among which acupuncture, bioresonance therapy, physiotherapy and manual therapy. Marieke works in De Praktijk as an office manager.
We would like to welcome you in the Ruigenhoek in one of our accommodations.

Comfortable holiday home
We were able to spend 1 week in this beautiful accommodation with four of us (two adults and two children).
We had never had such a well-equipped accommodation before. Many great details!
From keys to candles!
The children felt very comfortable and loved using the whirlpool with us.
The house is located in a quiet residential area, from which you can quickly start to many destinations via the nearby road connection.
We will gladly come back!

A great vacation!
We were three there, two adults with a 1 1/2-year-old.
The apartment is very well equipped and has everything you need.
Pool, sauna, dryer, television, and washing machine all top.
The apartment is located quite centrally between Amsterdam and The Hague. Both cities can be reached by car in about 40 minutes.
But you can also see and experience a lot there by bike. There are many beautiful routes to ride.
The landlords are very nice and are always ready to help. High chair and crib are also available on request.
We can highly recommend this apartment.

Eine bessere Unterkunft kann es nicht geben!
Die Lage des Ferienhauses ist zwischen den Tulpen- und Narzissenfeldern der ideale Ausgangspunkt für Fahrradfahrten durch die Gegend.
Keukenhofen erreicht man leicht mit dem Bus.
Für uns ist es jedes Jahr wie Heimkommen. Alles ist perfekt, der Komfort mit Sauna und Whirlpool unschlagbar.
Die Gastfamilie ist herzlich und gerne behilflich.
Freue mich schon auf unseren Aufenthalt 2023.

We especially liked that the house is furnished with love and that many details were taken care of. ein tolles Haus mit vielen kleinen Details zum Wohlfühlen. Mit den Rädern ist es nur ein kurzer Sprung zum Meer, mit langem Sanstrand.
