Our beautifully renovated holiday Cottage Sonnhof, situated on a slight slope with a fantastic view over the Walchsee offers you space for up to 18 people. The Sonnhof is facing west, from where you can watch the sun sink into the Walchsee in wonderful orange-red tones.
Our holiday home offers you:
On the ground floor:
A large, new kitchen / living room with a large dining table for 12-15 persons and adjoining pantry.
Ceramic hob, oven, 2 fridges, 1 freezer, dishwasher, microwave, electric kettle, toaster, coffee maker, complete kitchenware, etc.
A spacious rustic parlour, couch, flat screen, large corner bench and tables (former breakfast room). A total of up to 18 people could comfortably eat, celebrate and enjoy their holidays together. A flat TV + DVD player also contributes a little to relaxation.
1 new (08/2018) bathroom with shower, washbasin, WC, fan heater, washing machine and dryer.
1 separate toilet on the ground floor.
1 further new bathroom (08/2018) with double shower, fan heater and double sink.
1 bedroom on the ground floor with double bed, wardrobe and sideboard.
In winter they have an additional room for their skis with ski boot dryer.
Upstairs:
You will find a total of 6 bedrooms, a bathroom and a separate toilet.

Real beds for 17-18 persons, no sleeping on extendable couches necessary!!!!!!
Box bed, new mattresses, beautiful, padded headboard, solid, new oakwood wardrobe or new oiled oakwood bedside tables.

There is also a separate WC on the upper floor.
In the garden you will find a very large, partly covered terrace, 4 large tables with benches and chairs, parasols, sunbeds, ....
At the fountain you will find a quiet place to relax. Further a double swing with slide, a large, roofed sand box (2 meters x meters) with various sand toys. For the smaller children we also have bobby cars, pedal tractors and tricycles at the house - nothing new, but well preserved.
The house is equipped with W-lan / WIFI or network sockets.
Walchsee summer:
If you already rent a holiday home at the beautiful Walchsee in summer, you just have to go for a swim!
This is best done on one of the clean beaches around the lake, on the lakeside promenade with a beach café, where the grown-ups can spoil themselves with culinary delights while the children let off steam at the children's playground or trampoline.
You can also go sailing, surfing, water skiing, kayaking, electric boating or rafting with the Adventure Club! It won't get boring!
For hiking lovers:
You can hike on one of the 200 km long, marked hiking trails in all degrees of difficulty, afterwards or in between rest in one of the rustic huts or at a nice place with your own snack.
There are also special guided hikes for families with children aged 4 and over, which are considered particularly family-friendly.

Location and surroundings of object
Your holiday Cottage Sonnhof is located in the Kranzach district, only 10 minutes' walk from the Walchsee on a gentle slope, which gives you a wonderful view over the Walchsee and the other houses.
You live in a 220 m² holiday home, which my grandparents used to run as a bed and breakfast.
In the neighbourhood is a small shop, which can supply you well and gladly with your breakfast bread, the newspaper and everything else. There is also a larger supermarket not far from the house.
The terrace is arranged so that in the evening, when you sit comfortably on the bench in front of the house, you can watch the sun sink into the Walchsee - a wonderful sight! The children can also dig in the covered sandbox, swing or play football on the lawn. You can grill by the roofed grill place also when you have bad weather !!!!!!
In the winter you can go directly beside the house at the slope with a slide plate, a toboggan or a plastic bag under the bottom slide.
Around the Walchsee there are about 180 km of cross-country trails with all possible levels of difficulty and lengths. The two ski areas Zahmer Kaiser and HOchkössen can be reached with the ski bus behind the house in a short time. Walchsee is 658 m above sea level and has about 2100 inhabitants. It is a quiet, very beautiful place embedded in the lovely landscape of the Kaisergebirge with a wonderful bathing lake, the Walchsee.
Around the Walchsee there are some public beaches, partly with cafe, bar and playground.
The Walchsee can be reached in only 10 minutes by car from the motorway exit Oberaudorf/Niederaudorf.
If you book in our holiday home, you will receive free bathing tickets for the Walchsee and free parking tickets for the Kaiserwinkl region.

Cancellation terms:

We have renovated our holiday Cottage Sonnhof with a lot of love and attention, on the photos you get a light impression, but in reality it is even more beautiful!
We would be delighted if you would place your trust in us and spend your relaxing holiday with us in the Sonnhof.
Our holiday home is only conditionally suitable for wheelchair users. We already had a group of wheelchair users with us, but there were also carers. Everything worked perfectly, but it would not work without help. We will be happy to provide you with further information.
Our new roofed terrace area with integrated roofing of the sandpit was completed in 2018, as were the two new bathrooms and the new, separate WC.

Great, all-round perfect holiday home!
The 11 of us travelled to spend a skiing/hiking/relaxation holiday together. We were very lucky to find the holiday home of Barbara and Gerold. The house is perfect all round - large, very clean, equipped with everything you need (from the barbecue and boot dryer to the garlic press) and well thought out with a code door lock. Barbara and Gerold are incredibly friendly and always available for questions. The exchange of information beforehand is also great. We will certainly come again, be it in winter or summer! :)

Beautiful, high quality holiday home for large groups
We stayed with 3 families (6 adults and 6 children (4-10 years)) for a week in the holiday home. We liked it very much.
The house is very large and offers enough space for everyone. Everyone found a place at the large dining table in the kitchen. Two fridges offer enough cooling capacity. A separate living room offers even more space if needed.
The bathrooms are super modern and large with enough storage space even for wet ski stuff. All rooms are very clean and well maintained.
Beautiful garden with play structure and own well with drinking water.
The electronic door lock allows everyone in the group to enter and leave the house at any time without a key. The ski boot warmer cupboard is ideal for storing and drying wet ski boots overnight and saves the ski depot at the lift.
Check-in and check-out was completely uncomplicated. The communication with the landlady was very friendly.
All in all, a very nice holiday in a wonderful holiday home. Many thanks René

Beautiful holiday home
The house has an excellent location to the Walchsee and to many other great leisure activities. Everything is very clean and many things are still quite new. The equipment is more than sufficient, from the kitchen to children's toys. The landlords are very friendly and helpful. Whether with young or old, we can definitely recommend this beautiful holiday home.

Beautiful weekend at Sonnhof
I can only recommend the holiday home!
Everything you need is there, beautiful surroundings and super friendly, accommodating landlords.
The house is exactly as described and as shown in the pictures.
It is very comfortably furnished, everything is clean and you immediately feel at home.
We were at Sonnhof for the first time but definitely want to come back, it is difficult to find a comparable holiday home.
Thanks to the good contact with the landlords, everything was completely uncomplicated.

Perfect house for our one-week family vacation: 2 grandparents, 4 children with partners, 4 grandchildren. Our ages range from 55 years to 4 months. Mid-50s.
Beautiful rooms, very well equipped kitchen with plenty of dishes and glasses. Beautiful garden with a magnificent view of the lake and mountains, plenty of seating and sun loungers. Carrying bottles is unnecessary due to the delicious well water in the garden. Genius toddler vehicle park!
The secluded location was very pleasant.
Nice, uncomplicated landlords.
Bathroom and toilet on the ground floor are older, but still okay, everything very clean.

Birthday vacation with a group in a wonderful house
We were 9 girls from the late 30s to the late 70s, to celebrate a birthday together and spend a few vacation days together. From the first moment, we felt at home. It is a beautiful house, stylish and cozy, very well maintained, clean and big enough to have privacy even in a larger group. You really don't need to bring anything (everything is there: for example, a well-equipped kitchen with lots of dishes, spices, etc., washing machine, books, sun loungers). The kitchen and the terrace were our central places: lots of space, many amenities, and a super nice view. It was noticeable that the hosts (who are very uncomplicated) put their heart and soul into this beautiful accommodation. We will definitely come back! Thanks for the wonderful birthday!

Great winter vacation in a large group
We had a great vacation in a very beautiful, modern accommodation. There is really nothing missing in the house....from the well-stocked spice selection in the kitchen to the ski boot dryer in the garage, all wishes are fulfilled.
Large rooms, kitchen and living room make the stay very pleasant.
Definitely one of the best accommodations we have ever had on a winter vacation.

For the second time, we rented the house for a week - the last time was in 2011 - for our big family gathering.
All information provided by the landlords on their website about the Sonnhof holiday home is accurate.
The house is in perfect condition. Over the years, even more things have been added or renewed, such as a locking system with a programmable access code, which eliminates the need to divide house keys.
The landlords are friendly and helpful, but not intrusive.
We were 18 people, including the 85-year-old great-grandma and two 2-year-old great-grandchildren. There is a bedroom, bathroom and toilet, as well as a kitchen and living room on the ground floor - an advantage for elderly people. The remaining bedrooms, second toilet, and large bathroom with washing machine are on the first floor.
There are extra travel cots for young children. Swings, slides, sandboxes with sand and other toys (tricycles, wheelbarrows, tractors, etc.) are also available, as well as plenty of space to play and romp.
We cooked for ourselves on six days and can confirm: The cooking utensils and the grill, as well as storage and cooling facilities, are more than sufficient for 25 people. Only sharp knives should be brought along.
The free internet via WLAN was gladly used by everyone, although there were occasional noticeable availability bottlenecks.
We had another wonderful time and would love to come back.

Fabulous holiday on the Walchsee
We just returned from a week on the Walchsee. We were two families with young children looking for a relaxing holiday. We found all that and more at the beautiful Ferienhaus Sonnhof. The house is perfect for group of friends or a large family looking for a big space where everyone can be together for meals or relaxing but still have their private spaces. We had more than enough room and we enjoyed the beautiful sunny kitchen and the breakfast room was perfect for playing games in the evening. The house had everything we needed, even bikes and riding toys for the children were provided in the garage. We planned a nice week of BBQs and relaxing around the lake (5 minutes walking), unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate and we had cooler temperatures and some rain. It honestly didn't matter as there is so much to do in this area. We never felt bored for a minute. Thank you Barbara and Gerold for a wonderful holiday. We are already planning our next trip.

Large holiday home with great amenities.
Very friendly owners, the house is in great condition as described and the garden leaves nothing to be desired!
No "you can't do this, you can't do that", "don't be so loud", "blah, blah, blah" restrictions!
Great location - the lake is only a short walk away, hiking and cycling tours can be easily started right on site, no hours of driving to beautiful places.
The house was shown to us in detail, the kitchen equipment left nothing to be desired. Lockable garage for bicycles and bike trailers. Sufficient parking spaces on the property. Grills available. Private well with the note that it is optimal for cold beer ;-) Large, recently renovated bathroom.
The pictures available on the internet do not show the condition after a renovation many years ago, but exactly the condition in which we found the house. Just great! We would love to come back!
