Description
This welcoming, comfortable holiday home, with magnificent views of the Mediterranean (5-10 minutes by car to the beach), surrounded by olive and carob trees, was completed only a few years ago. It offers accommodation for a maximum of 2 couples and children (2 double bedrooms and a sleeping platform).
The atmosphere is characterised by natural materials - wood and stone (Jerusalem Stone on terraces and floors), and the design combines the comfort of the interior with the Cretan reality that we spend much of the day outside.
The exceptionally large veranda around the house offers variations of sun, wind and shade at different times of the day, and always a comfortable space. The large living space extends over the entire 1st floor (kitchen, living room, office corner) and allows for an ideal holiday atmosphere of togetherness and tranquillity, as required.
Our visitors have been regularly impressed by the simple beauty and welcoming style of the villa.
As our garden is not yet fully developed (apart from the beautiful old olive and carob trees, we have a number of young fruit trees - oranges, lemons, figs etc., herbs and bushes, strawberries and vegetables), we are offering the house again in 2020 at exceptional prices - the following year it will all cost more!
We have an eco-stove (and enough olive wood) and a very good solar system, so it can be cosy even in winter, with hot water and a good shower.

Location and surroundings of object
The idyllic village of Anidri lies in a sunny valley and is small and unspoilt by mass tourism. It offers an unusual combination of Greek tradition and cosmopolitan atmosphere (the few inhabitants - apart from the local Greeks - come from all corners of Europe). Its famous kafenion 'Sto Skolio', which serves a combination of traditional Greek cuisine and global, healthy influences and attracts guests from near and far, is a two-minute walk from our house. As tourists we can get all the help, information and socialising we could wish for.
Apart from that, there are no shops or restaurants in the village - for shopping we have to drive 5 km - through the beautiful Anidri gorge - to the next larger town: the old fishing village of Paleochora, now the tourist and agricultural centre of southwest Crete. There we find supermarkets, restaurants and all the services and amenities of civilisation that we expect in a tourist town, but without the normal noise and bustle. No hotel or house is higher than three floors, every evening the centre of town is closed to cars, chairs and tables come out and people eat on the street or on the pretty promenade, right by the sea.
It is 5 minutes by car to the coast, or between 10 and 15 minutes to various beaches in the area (Anidri, Paleochora, Grammeno). All beaches are very well maintained - many have sun loungers and umbrellas. The remote beaches are unspoilt and romantic.
The area offers countless bays and beaches, and endless sunshine all year round; it is ideal for beach holidays, but also for hiking and cycling. Day trips to Sougia and Lissos, to the Irini and Samaria gorges, to Elafonissi, Milia and on to Falarssana and Gramvoussa are easily possible. Ferries and boat trips to Gavdos and along Crete's south coast offer interesting holiday activities.

What a view!
We stayed in this great holiday home for 2 weeks with our 2 boys. We especially enjoyed the view of the sea, which could also be seen from the bedrooms. The house cat Alma was a cuddly companion for us. The holiday home is very well equipped. In the garden, we could harvest vegetables, fruits, and herbs. The landlord Michael immediately helped us via WhatsApp if we had any questions. The restaurant "Sto Scolio" was our absolute favorite.

Dream vacation
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Anidri Villa. The house is equipped with everything you need for a carefree vacation. The view is simply fantastic. The Kafenio STO Scolio, which is only 200 meters away, is highly recommended.

Great vacation
We spent two weeks in Anidri with our three children and really enjoyed our vacation there. The house is located among old olive trees, is very lovingly and tastefully furnished, and from the terrace you have a fantastic view of the Libyan Sea. Often we walked through the still young garden and harvested fresh vegetables, and the cat Basho grew very close to our hearts in the short time. In the Kafenion in Anidri you can eat excellently and the nearest beach is easy to reach (10 min by car, 1 hour on foot through a beautiful gorge). We made many trips in the area, for example to the beach of Elafonisi, Samaria Gorge, Lissos, etc. We were in constant, very pleasant email contact with our landlord Michael, who provided us with all the necessary information so that we felt well from the beginning. We can only warmly recommend this accommodation in Anidri and would always spend our vacation there again. Thank you very much for everything.

Wonderful holiday accommodation
We stayed in this wonderful villa from mid-September to mid-October 2014. The house has all the comforts. It is lovingly furnished and very tidy. Most of the time, especially the evenings, we spent on the beautiful large terrace... simply heavenly. The garden is still very young, but we were still able to harvest vegetables from the small plants.
We were always in contact with the owner (Michael Soth, very helpful and courteous) by email. Kinna was also in the neighborhood, who was always helpful and very nice with questions, etc., and available to us at any time.
And then there was Basho, the house cat, whom we immediately fell in love with.
In conclusion, it was simply a great home for us.
