Description

More beautiful pictures on the description page for the second flat in the house. !!! On the right side of this page !!!
The holiday flat is situated in our red Swedish house, newly built in 2005, on a quiet street at the edge of the village, which is only built on one side. On the opposite side, nature begins to unfold. You look across meadows and fields directly into the forest. In the morning and evening hours, there are sometimes deer or hares in the meadow. The house is built according to the latest findings and with biological raw materials. The basic structure consists of an untreated wooden framework and visible wooden beam ceilings. The sound and heat insulation was covered with Isofloc blow-in insulation made of cellulose and flax (a renewable natural product). The floors are covered with cork in the living area and with tiles in the sanitary area. The balcony has wooden floorboards. The low-energy house is heated by a combined heat pump and ventilation system via underfloor heating.
From the outside, the house is clad in red wood.
Due to this first-class product combination, the house develops a super room and living climate that you simply have to experience once.
The flat has about 70 m² of living space. The kitchen is equipped with modern brand furniture and the best electrical appliances (fridge-freezer, oven, ceramic hob, extractor bonnet, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, kettle,...) and plenty of cooking and eating utensils. In the living room there is a leather sofa with sleep function and small cupboards with accessories to feel good, from here a wooden staircase leads to a bedroom with double bed in the attic with sloping roof. The living room and kitchen are bright as they have a window and a balcony door. Thus, both rooms also have access to the south-facing balcony with garden view. In the modern tiled bathroom you will find a shower, a sink, the toilet and bathroom furniture. There is still the corridor to the bedroom with the double bed and its bedside cabinets with lamp. Of course, the wardrobe must also be mentioned in the list.
From the bedroom, another wooden staircase leads to the attic of the house, where 2 more people can sleep in a bunk bed. From the living room, a staircase also leads to the third bedroom with a double bed under the sloping roof. These are the children's bunks, so to speak, but they are also suitable for adults. The 900 m² garden of the house changes from time to time, as our overall design is not yet finished and we are always coming up with little things. Especially for you, we have created a small sitting area in the garden. There you will find seating furniture and a barbecue with which you can prepare a delicious meal. The renovated construction trailer is at your disposal, just have a look inside. To the side of your barbecue idyll, there is a red garden shed with a few bicycles that you can use to explore the surrounding area free of charge. Suggestions for cycling, hiking and car trips are ready for you in the holiday flat.

The second flat has 45 m² of space for up to three people. In the bedroom there is a modern boxsprin bed for 2 persons. The modern living room has a flat-screen TV, telephone and a wide leather sofa on which a third person can sleep. W-Lan internet is available throughout the flat. In the kitchen you will find a modern new fitted kitchen with four-plate hob, convection oven, dishwasher, coffee machine, kettle, toaster and a CD radio. From the kitchen window, as well as from the large living room window front, you look directly into meadows, fields and the forest of the Osterhagen. The modern small bathroom has a ground-level shower with glass doors that can be folded in all directions.

We look forward to seeing you!!!!

If the occupancy calendar is set to occupied, I may be able to arrange other accommodation for you!!!

What does Hummersen offer:

Nordic Walking Park :

All routes start and end at the fire station !!!

Route I Kielberg Tour
(blue route)
It leads to the Kiel- and Wiehenberg, along the border of Lower Saxony, past the shooting range and back to the starting point.
Route II Silbersiektour
(red route)
The route leads along the golf course towards Schloss Sonnenberg, through the Silbersiek to the Laucherteich, through the Molkenkiel, along the foot of the Osterhagen and back to the starting point.
Route III Köterberg Tour
(black route)
This route leads across the border triangle (Lippe, Holzminden and Höxter) and over the Köterberg, which offers a good distant view of the nearby Weserbergland and the Teutoburg Forest. Continue past the wind turbines, back to the start
Route X Klosterberg Tour
(black route)
The mainly asphalted route leads past hollow farms, towards Wörderfeld, over the Klosterberg to Falkenhagen, over the Molkenkiel bridge, back to the fire station.
Route XX

Hiking :
There are many beautiful hiking trails around Hummersen through the meadows, fields and forests.
A popular destination from here is of course the Köterberg (jokingly also called Monte Wau Wau). From up there, you have a wonderful view all the way to the Brocken in the Harz Mountains and, on the other side, to the Hermann Monument
Hermann monument on the other side. All the places visible around the mountain are engraved on a steel plate
engraved on a steel plate.
In the restaurant on the mountain you can enjoy a cup of coffee or other drinks and food
And enjoy the panoramic view.
In winter you can also go sledging at an altitude of 500 metres (provided there is snow).

Golfing :
The golf club Weserbergland Polle-Hummersen starts directly at the edge of our beautiful village.

The hilly course, laid out in 1982, creates a unique connection between sport, art and nature. Sculptures by renowned artists are integrated into the course and the landscape. The fairways are lined by the forest and offer a wonderful view of the valleys and hills of the Weserbergland.
The course is operated all year round. A 3-hole short course with pitch green also offers room for a short game during tournaments.

Cycling :
even though it is a bit hilly here, you can cycle very nicely. Our house offers free bikes. In Polle on the Weser (about 5 km downhill) the Weser cycle path R99 runs along both sides of the Weser.
The Weser cycle path is one of the most attractive cycle paths in Germany. You will find peace and relaxation in a varied landscape, spend your free time actively and health-consciously, and it's fun on top of all that! Pedal along the Weser from Hann. Münden to Cuxhaven; the Weser Cycle Path offers you this opportunity.
On your way home, you can leave your bikes in Polle by arrangement and we will pick you up by car at the foot of the mountains.

Skittles :
In the newly renovated "Hotel Zur Post" a 2-lane bowling alley can be rented by the hour for a fee. At the same time, you can also enjoy a meal in the Italian ambience.
The dishes can also be ordered in advance to take back to the holiday flat. The hotel is about a 3-minute walk from our Swedish house.

Swimming :
The own small outdoor swimming pool, which is independently managed and maintained by the residents of Hummers. The swimming pool is not overcrowded as it is mostly only used by the local families. It is already considered an insider tip in the surrounding villages.
In the morning and evening, you can swim your laps in peace and quiet. Come and have a look.
Brief information
Water surface in the swimmer's area of approx. 130 m²
Water surface in the non-swimmer area of approx. 30 m²
Water depth in the swimmer's area from 0.70 to 1.40 m
Water depth in the non-swimmer area from 0.70 to 1.00 m
Length of lane in swimmer's area 16 m
Length of lane in non-swimmer area 5 m
Sunbathing lawn in the size of approx. m³
Kiosk
Solar heating
Water surface in the non-swimmer area of approx. 30 m²

The boat trip :
There is a landing stage in Polle on the Weser from where you can board a boat of the Oberweserdampfschifffahrtsgesellschaft at certain times. The trip goes down the Weser to Bodenwerder (Münchhausenstadt) or up to Höxter. From Höxter, the trip can then also be continued to Bad Karlshafen. Bicycles can be taken along.

There are many more things to explore and experience with us, my suggestion to you :
Book our holiday flat in our red Swedish house and go on a journey of discovery.
A specially created information folder in the new flat will inform you about all our sights.

The Benner family is looking forward to your visit!

The chronicle of Hummersen,
already mentioned in a document in the year 832 in connection with the monastery CORVEY
near Höxter, looks back on a farming settlement history of over 1150 years.
Between the LONAUBACH and the LAKENBACH, the settlement was founded in the
early medieval period due to the rich water resources of these streams
of these streams.

The first mentioned name HAMERESHUSEN is due to the settler "Hamar".
Due to the change of language in the following centuries, the place name also changed, in the year - 1031 HAMERESSEN,
- 1231 KERKHOMERSEN, which perhaps also suggests an existing church;
- 1268 OVERENHOMERSEN,
- 1590 HOMMERSEN,
- 1618 HUMMERßEN and afterwards - HUMMERSEN.
1246/47 first mentions of land sale of Hermann von Everstein with seat in Polle, who had property from Höxter to Hameln, to the monastery of Falkenhagen.
In the Everstein feud, the agreement on the change of ownership to the county of LIPPE took place. However, warlike conflicts between the Brunswick-Lündeburg troops and the Everstein-Lippe soldiers resulted in the destruction of Polle and "Everstein" castle, Falkenhagen monastery, the town of Rischenau and the surrounding villages (1407), including Hummersen. The rest of the destruction and traces of robbery suggest the Soest feud.
After the rebuilding of the FALKENHAGEN monastery, the Crusaders repopulated the surrounding villages, including Hummersen. From this it can be concluded that the villages formed the parish of Falkenhagen.
The transfer of Falkenhagen Monastery to the Princes of Lippe also sealed the villages' affiliation to the LIPPE region.
Formerly an independent municipality of the Detmold district in the state of Lippe, HUMMERSEN, with 550 inhabitants, has been a district of the town of Lügde, now the district of Lippe in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, since the territorial reform of 1970.
HUMMERSEN is situated on a plateau between Polle/Weser and the Köterberg (also known as the "Brocken of the Lipperland"), which can be seen from afar, and is an ideal holiday and leisure resort with many hiking opportunities.
With its traditional farming and rural structure, the first signs of tourism as a summer resort emerged around 1930, which then experienced a steady upswing from 1955 onwards, while preserving the village character. Hummersen is a super starting point for the best individuality:

Hummersen is a small idyllic place with history (more about this at the end of this text). Here you will find clean clear air, this is due to the fact that we are surrounded by hilly forests and there is no industry here that pollutes the environment. In addition, we have no direct through traffic. We are situated between the Weserbergland and the Teutoburg Forest (famous for the Hermann Monument and the Varus Battle, the Romans against the Germanic tribes). Here you can sit back in peace and let the experiences of the region take effect on you.
Within a radius of 50 km from our holiday flat you will find over 50 excursion destinations, of which brochures are available for you in the flat. Special attractions are the eagle station with show flights of different birds of prey, the bird park where visitors can see different bird species on their shoulders, the Externsteine, the Hermann monument, the open-air museum, the Teuto climbing park, a high ropes course at heights of up to 12 metres, various castles, the Pied Piper town of Hameln, the Münchhausen town of Bodenwerder and much more. In Detmold and Bad Pyrmont there are theatre and open-air activities. Nearby you can also see performances by open-air theatres.
How about a shopping trip to Paderborn, Hanover, Hildesheim, Bielefeld or Kassel?
Just drive off and have fun then come back in the evening and feel comfortable in our flat and prepare for the next day or just laze around.
A holiday as it should be.

Great holiday flat

The Benner family has a very nice holiday flat,
furnished with a lot of taste. The nature starts directly opposite
if you don't need the hustle and bustle, this is the place for you.
It makes sense to travel by car, as there are no shops or restaurants in the village.
Two downers:
The description talks about cork floors, but it is a simple tiled floor
The guest WLAN is already bad to receive in the apartment, on the terrace it does not work at all

recommend for: cultural and sightseeing holiday, romantic holiday

Pure holiday and relaxation

We visited Hummersen for a week in July. The flat met our expectations in all respects. We (4 children between 8&13 years and 2 adults) felt very comfortable

There is a wonderful large balcony where six of us could eat comfortably and yet there was still room for the children to play there afterwards. The rooms are also equipped with everything you need. Everything is in great condition, neat, clean and very cosy.

We received a very friendly welcome from the landlords and they took care of everything

There is a small outdoor pool only 5-10 minutes walk away. Not big, but very cosy and enough for swimming and cooling down and for the kids to run around. Every afternoon the kids asked if we could go there again for an hour/two hours.

There are also many things to do in the area. Either you start directly from Hummersen for beautiful walks or you drive a few km and find many sights and excursion destinations. (Externsteine, Herrmannsdenkmal, Hameln, Münchhausen Museum, summer toboggan run, ....)

We can recommend this flat without reservation and the children have already asked if we can book here again next year.

Wunderbare Pfingsten 2012

recommend for: adventure and experience, holiday with children, cultural and sightseeing holiday

Vicinity of the holiday home: Sehr ländlich und idyllisch, wirklich sehr schön.

free time activities: Können wir nicht bewerten, da nicht unser Hauptaugenmerk.

shopping facilities: In Hummersen selber schlecht, aber 5-7 Km entfernt gibt es einen Supermarkt, eine Tankstelle und einen Bäcker.
